| Welcome
to Willows home page. I thought folks who enjoy the older
"classic's" might find it interesting. Phillip Rhodes designed the Chesapeake 32 for George Walton, a Maryland yacht broker, in 1958. It is design #C700. 95 boats where built between 1960 and 1965. Willow is hull #87. The first 35 boats where built by Danboats, the rest by Sanderson in Denmark. I have no idea how many survive today. Willow has had an extensive re-fit by the previous owner, beginning in 1987. The original wood mast and boom where replaced with aluminium and rigged as a 7/8 rig. New Awlgrip, sails and a Yanmar diesel are but a few of the upgrades and modifications. The interior has been rebuilt in teak and has a Shipmate 3 burner stove with oven. Willows home port is Woodstock, NY. We sail her on the Hudson River, and also have a mooring on Long Island Sound. If you have any questions please email me. Also, if any owners of other Cheasapeake 32's would like to get together I would enjoy hearing from you. I hope you enjoy the pictures and have a good sailing season! |
