Captains Abstract
The fifth and final fixture of the Winter one-day season saw us pitted against
traditional rivals Albany Creek. After the loosing the toss we were sent into
bat on a damp wicket. Despite this, we managed to put on a reasonable batting
performance with almost all the batsman making double figures. The show of the
day coming from Hugh Wilson (37*) who was well supported by Simon Jones (17),
Andrew Bennet (17) and Sam Martin (17). Assisied by extra's we managed a total
of 148.
Although the Albany Creek side showed some early batting grunt, there innings
was in trouble from the beginning, when they lost there first wicket for four.
The middle order crumbled thanks mainly to some strong bowling from Andrew Kemp
(3-37) and Simon Jones (4-14), the Albany Creek side at one point loosing 4-0.
All the bowlers contributed with wickets to roll Albany Creek for only 62. A
overwhelming victory for us.
