               The first game of the season, a one-dayer, saw us taking on the Emperors XI
               a team we had met in the previous winter competition last year.
               
               After winning the toss and batting first, Things moved along steadily with small
               contributions by almost everybody particuarly Simon Jones (41) and Hugh Wilson
               (21). After 35 overs we ended up 8-142.
               
               The bowling started off well with wickets falling early, before a middle order
               partnership threaten to put the Emperors XI in front. However, we managed to
               overcome this with Simon Jones (3-22), Chris White (2-19) and Kris Wilson (1-15)
               all bowling particuarly well.
               
               A win in the first game of the season, in a higher grade, making the outlook
               for the rest of the season look very positive.
