Captains Abstract
With only nine men playing today it was going to take an extraordinary effort to get a good result
out of the game.
We won the toss and elected to bowl first on a slightly damp, synthetic wicket. We had quick success
with Matter Hill slumping to 4-34. Matter Hill then looked to gain the accendency until Bill (3-33)
put in two great overs to start their collapse. Kris Wilson helping in the destruction taking 2-17.
Matter Hill finishing all out for 122 after 27 overs.
Pete and myself looked to be aggresive early, with clouds looming we tried to attack. This worked well
with us taking the score to 66 before I was caught on the boundary for 29. Hugh Wilson then took it to
the attack, posting a quickfire 23, before being bowled with the score on 107. Pete posted yet another
fifty before Sambo hit the winning runs in the 26th over.
In the end we won by seven wickets.
