Captains Abstract
With the rain that had been around play was delayed by about 45 minutes at the start.
After winning the toss we elected to field on a wet wicket, which was scidding around.
However the opposition showed an early intention to see out the day, and wickets appeared
hard to come by. Rob Hussey made the initial break through, grabbing one of the openers
with the score on 48. He ended the day with figures of 3-34, Andrew Kemp took 1-33 and
Chris White 2-18. When rain and light stopped play Carribean had made 6-185.
When play resumed on the second day, we set out to end the innings quickly. This occured in
half an hour with Andrew Kemp (3-42) and Chris White (4-26), ripping through the bottom
order.
Unfortunately our batsmen failed to fire and other than Pete Shaw (30) and Hugh Wilson
(20), no impressions were made on the target. The game ended in a draw soon after the
start of our second innings when rain once again stopped play.
