Captains Abstract
This week went well, after losing the toss we were sent out into the field. With Shaun McCoy sick Chris
took up the second opening bowlers spot. This prooved succesfull with me being able to claim some
early scalps (5-30). Kempy (2-6) at the same time was bowling very tightly from the other end. Kris
bowled well without reward, and Rob Hussey (2-1) bowled well to finish the innings.
We went out to bat full of confidence and this was proved roght with the openers, Sam Martin (23) and
Peter Shaw (29) making a good opening partnership of 53. Rob Hussey (48) showed a good return to form,
and with Chris White (25) made a 57 run partnership. Hugh Wilson (20*) and Sebastian Monterverde (25*)
also played well to have us in the strong position of 6-190 at stumps.
On resumption of play we played out five more overs to finish up 7-216. Our bowling once again was fairly
good, however the Everton batting prooved stronger, and although we bowled tight we struggled to take
regular wickets. This however changed when Kris (3-22) took two quickly, and when Kempy finished with
4-69. Things had gone ok. Everton finished up with 191, and a lead of 20.
Our openers, Pete(18*) and Bill(2*) saw us home, and saw us to an outright win.
