Yanchep National Park is about one hour north of the city of Perth and is a wonderful place to get a taste of the bush.

We had to start with a completely wild kangaroo nibbling in the forest.

Eleven Koalas live in an enclosure. We learnt that koalas can tell when eucaliptus contains arsenic.

Grass trees grow very slowly and are a distinctive part of the bush.

Central to Yanchep is a lake with swamp hens and pelicans.

When the rain starts falling it's time for one of Mrs. Macs pies.

The"28" is otherwise known as the ringneck parrot

Taken in Northern Perth, the Black Swan is part of the flag of Western Australia. A major project to reestablish the on the Swan River is underway.
