Some Western Australian birds. The first thing to strike us on arrival in Western Australia was how totally differeent the trees and bird life is to our home in western Canada.

What else would you call this but a sacred ibis.

Noone would chose to live in a prison, except for this maglark, found in Fremantle Gaol.

This spoonbill lives in Perth zoo, but we did see them in the wildEven the most enthusiastic steam railway needs a liitle diesel at the back of the shed.

Taken in Northern Perth, the Black Swan is part of the flag of Western Australia. A major project to reestablish the on the Swan River is underway.
