Press Conference for Fantasy(Shin Min/Wanbao)

Wonder what these reporters will report if it was U channel who filmed this show. The reports sound like the leads are too "old" to capture young audience hearts. From the yearly Students popularity poll and outdoor promotion response it is obvious that Hanwei is most capable among the leads to attract young audience's support. Are they so ignorant since the polls were carried out by their own papers.

Together with Tay Ping Hui they become "over-aged" "idols"!

In Taiwan's idol drama whether "guys or gals", those who carries the lead are between eighteen and twenty-two youthful age. But the lead actors in MedicaCorps idol drama, Hanwei and Ping Hui are over thirties. Are they not worried being criticised for too "old"?

Regarding this Hanwei said," I have thought about it. Age wise I am kind of mature but idol drama must satisfy three conditions such as good looking leads, nice songs and beautiful photographic shots. <<Fantasy>> more or less have them. We are not too "ugly" people. As for age, you can bluff. You just got to make a change in image, and you are 18 years old."

When interviewed Ping Hui said "You have to look at the roles mainly to see if it's over-aged. If you ask me to go and act as a Pre-U student then it's wrong. But the role in <<Fantasy>> is designed to be mature. So it's really not a problem."

<<Fantasy>> with production cost of more than 1.6 million dollars had its press conference yesterday. Producer, Chen Jian Yi when asked about the actors age limit for idol drama frankly said, " I was a little worried, but I feel that idol drama does not just attract young audience. Hanwei and Ping Hui both have their own charm and can capture a wider range of audience."...............

Zheng Shi Mei who acted as the bad gal in <<Fantasy>> lost so much weight that her face becomes sunken. She admitted she was worried and wanted to see a doctor. And for Hanwei, he has so far eight shows from last year till now and hasn't stopped filming. Because of that he also lost one to two kilograms.

Same "old" story but this reporter also considers the female lead "old"

....The Taiwan's idol drama are all 19. 20 years old young guys and girls but the 3 lead male and female actors especially Ping Hui and Hanwei are "a bit aged".

Chen Jian Yi also said that she hope that this kind of team-up is more capable of attracting different strata of audience.

The two lead actors also expressed at yesterday's press conference that "age" is not a problem.

Hanwei analyse,"Age can be 'hoaxed" I feel that good image designing can help a lot. Also although the more "experienced" artistes lose out in age to younger people but in terms of experience and acting skills it can be more outstanding."

<<Fantasy>>'s production cost is as high as 1.6 million dollars. This is used to ensure scenes give a sense of freshness and perfect beauty.

Since <<Fantasy>> is called an idol drama, naturally it is not without super perfect scenic shots. Besides there are many scenes that require "lots of people", and hence more than the usual number of temporary actors are mobilised compared to other drama serials. Producer Chen Jian Yi revealed that <<Fantasy>> costs as much as 1.6 million dollars. She hopes that the drama serial will give a sense of freshness and beauty.

Chen Jian Yi said that she does not feel much pressure that the show is facing U channel's <<Chuang Shi Ji>> with its good ratings as the theme of both shows are completely different.

" The reviews for Hong Kong's TVB drama serials has always been good. If our results can exceed them, we are definitely very happy. If the difference is not far it is also an honour."
