-It is the 16th element.
-Sulfur belongs to the Chalogen Group in the
Periodic Table.
-Sulfur has six valance electrons, but wants two more to be stable.

-It has an atomic weight of 32.065g.
-Sulfur's name comes from the Latin word Sulphurium, which means brimstone.  This is because it smells like rotten eggs.
-To find it in the environment, a good place to look is near a volcano or hot spring. Meteorites also contain sulfur, though they are harder to come by.
