July - Equipment Maintenance/Gas Chambers:
During ARGEX and SOCEX, the NBC section was the victim of a couple unfortunate accidents. We had four boxes fall off of a truck and three more dropped on board a ship. We spent the month inspecting gear, replacing it, and repacking. FUN! On the positive side, we also enjoyed a couple weeks leave. No complaints there.
August - Deploy
In the wake of September 11th, it's easy to find someone who talks a good game. Not content to sit around, 2/2 is going to do our part. We'll spend some time in the Mediterranean then push on out to CENTCOM (Iraq and Afghanistan). Wish us luck!
September - October - Macedonia/Kosovo
The first month of our deployment was uneventful. After insuring that our equipment was stowed for sea, we spent time planning for several contingencies. Mid September found us embarking on our first operation: Dynamic Response in Kosovo. Click on the picture or this link for more info.
