WHERE HAVE WE BEEN.......AGAIN!!

Well hello there, long time no see! lets get the obvious question out of the way before we go any further. Where the heck have we been hiding all this time? Well, Didge has been working hard and also been pre-occupied with the trials of buying a house. Thankfully he has found one and will be paying a mortgage very soon. Rather him than me! ;-)
As for myself, well i have been ill for the past few months and have not had a chance to do anything really, untill now. Didge and I have discussed this site and have decided to completely change it as the team itself has changed quite dramaticaly.

Anyway enough of that, if you want more news on changes then head to the news page of this site. Where as here we will get down to the report for the game on the 30th October 2003.
The team lined up as follows; there was myself in goal (as always) Didge, Rich, Flash, Tony and a new player named Gaz. We played a team called 'Pound a pint' (I wish!!) and started at 9:30pm.
I could tell that winter has once again fallen upon us as i took my coat off and wanted to put it straight on agin! The cold just suddenly hit you as soon as we prepared to play, but as usual once we got started we soon warmed up. We started off quietly, we defended well but did not seem to push up for the attack until about 10 minutes later when the keeper handled the ball outside the area and we were awarded a free kick. Tony comfortably put it into the lower left corner and we went 1 up. Afterward I made a couple of saves, and there was some class defending, especially by rich who had a ball belted at his ass which deadened his leg, and a shot which caught him in the 'crown jewels! but despite this, we still went behind. We pushed up and started attacking, taking the game to them and started to make it a close battle all the way to the half time mark. During the first half it was obvious that Didge was struggling. He had not played for a month due to ill health and was also recovering from a chest infection. (He had literally been in the wars lately!) He went off at one point after scoring a beautiful goal which he placed neatly in the bottom corner.
At half time we were down by only 3 goals and as soon as we started again, we scored another to pull us closer back to the top. However whenever we scored, they would score. It was the old story of end to end football. During this time Rich scored a lovely daisy cutter goal which went through the keepers legs. I felt his embarrassment, as he was 'megged' on more than one occasion, they are horrible goals to let in.
We fought hard and constantly tried to get back on top, Didge had to stop playing half way through the second half due to his chest. But he was replaced by Ian from Emad who had just finished their game and so he came on for us and seemed to breathe new life into the team.
It was not enough to pull us back however as we went on to loose the game. We fought hard but could not seem to find our usual decent form tonight.
