CRETE

      Nice breakfast of eggs potatoes fried egg plant, juice coffee. So today will take plane to Crete. Hotel is called Sun Village on the Mediterranean Sea. Has everything to relax. Crete got its independence in few years ago. Food and wine is great. Had glass of Fleur Du Cap while relaxing in the room.

      Supper was Garides Me Feta(Shrimp) Kakavia (fish and vegetable soup) Potato Salad ,Octopothi (Grilled octopus with Ouzo(Greek Liquor)desert was Eekmek (Layered custard cake)Took Greek coffee outside to relax. Sketo (with sugar) metria (medium sweet) glyko (very sweet). At the pub got a (raki) distilled from over pressed grapes Very Strong)

      After good breakfast off eggs, thick bacon coffee and toast. Tour Guide speaks English went to school in US. Over 250 hotels Inns and motels in Crete. Went through Agia Pelagia, Malia, Plaka, Elounda, Katomoki, Lendas, Plakios. So many towns to see the people relaxing.

      Spent night at Agia Pelagia called Hotel Blue Bay. Sure has everything needed. Supper over looking the Sea of Fasotalha (Bean soup) Salata Marouli (Romani Lettuce) Kalamari (Deep fried squid) Garithes (Shrimp) Kourambieded (Greek cookies) and coffee. After nice glass or 2 of Kav0klidere Yakut very smooth.

      Nice breakfast traveled through Kissarnos, Phalassarna, Paleochora, Loutro, back to Chania to room. Crete controlled by Venetion (Venice) Ottomans, Albania, Egypt. Finally Independence in 1912 Germans during WW2. But got photos of Harbor Knassos Place, Agia Paraskevi's Church. The Sachnisi, so many old buildings In Rethymno Greek church. Chania Harbors crowded.

      Well running out of film. Plane back to Athens Hotel Golden is great. Well will spend few more days here. Visited the Erecktheion Temple of Athena, Nike Hill of Pnyka or Theswion, both are very ancient Agora, theater of Dionysus, Sacret Gate, Delpylon Gate, and Pompeion, Tower of the Winds. At Kerameikos, Street of the tombs. At the Parthenon is greatest monument dedicated to goddess Athena.

      Seems always wars. Especially the Persian wars. They burned Athens in their wars. Well time to head towards Albania.
