ALBANIA

      Plane arrived in Tirane the capitol. Economy not good in this country. Advised to not go East or West, due to mine fields. Have nice room on 8th floor of Tirana, for few days. Not to go out at nights due to gangs. Albania eastern shore of Adratic Sea, Montegro and Serbia to the north, Macedona to the East and Greece to the South. Little bigger than Maryland. A lot of Mountains.

      History Jllyria, Rome, turks Muslims Germany Russia. Got freedom in 2005. Almost every leader of Albania was bad. Breakfast goat milk. Do not drink the water, Get bottled. Corn cakes Jam eggs and bacon, after breakfast relaxed.

      Well after walking around the area, decided to have supper of Goat potatoes veggies. Wine was red Bodega Boukas, very nice along with goat cheese and fruit.

      Now to see the country. Traveled over the Mat River to Drinizi to Puke (correct a city) pronouced Poo-ka. Got a nice picture. Spent night here at Albturist Hotel (not bad). Had a Beer from Italy with Roast Beef Sandwich. A Raspberry Pie.

      Well another day Im off to Shkoder crossed Ruene River to Lezhe. Stopped at Durres by the Adriatic Sea. Will stay at Adriatic Hotel very nice very cheap rates. Durres founded in 627 BC.Starved and had Qofte roquara mint floured meatballs with Yoquart sauce, Romaine Salad,(Pule meaira (chicken with walnuts) Albanian walnut cake with lemon glaze. Glass of Dimiat on the beach.

      Quick breakfast of eggs, really thick bacon, toast and juice. Off now to Pogradec. I go to a lot of libraries and Tour office Well on the road. Rent of cars very cheap. Crossed Osum River to Gramsh then through other small towns to Shkubin ,spent night at Hotel Enkelana near Ohnd. Beautiful place. Had a great fish veggies, potato soup, potatoes. Dessert was a nice white cake, with tae ,and a glass of Pamid while on patio. Have now covered a lot of cities, but desire to leave. One never knows.

      Well I'm in Macedonia, by Lake Ohrid, in town of Ohrid. Food similar to Turks and Greece. Nice Ohrid trout, baked potatoes, lamb soup with veggies.A great chocolate moussee. With a bottle of Kopsko beer off t to bed.

      Visited Svetic Jovan Bogoslov Kaneo a 13th century church over looking Lake Ohrid. Macedonia has been invaded by Russians Germans Romans turks Moors, was part of Yugoslavia at one time but finally broke away. Albanias come in from nearby Serbia/Kosovo to attack the government in 2005

      Have traveled through Bitola through Nidza Mountains to Kavadarci over Vardar to Kocani over Bregalnica. Time to leave this country, one never knows.
