National Park in Uruapan, Michoacan

Waterfall

Charlie and Carole visiting the National Park at Uruapan, in the State of Michoacan where there are dozens of waterfalls and cascades.

Ask a Mexican, which is the most beautiful state in Mexico besides your own and invariably the answer will be Michoacan. This is the state that has the Monarch butterfly preserves, the elegant colonial city of Morelia, the quaint colonial city of Patzquaro, the copper town of Santa Clara de Cobre, and a lot more interesting places to visit.

The second picture is of Gus and Marina Garcia who were visiting us when we took this little excursion to Uruapan. Gus was a city councilman from Austin, Texas at the time this picture was taken, later became of mayor Austin, and is now enjoying the good life retired.
