Coppersmith Just south of Patzquaro is the town of Santa Clara de Cobre, which means "Saint Clair of Copper." Most of the town is devoted to making hand wrought articles of copper. The man in the back is working bellows said to be of a unique local design dating back to Spanish colonial times. The coppersmith takes a flat sheet of hot copper and pounds it into bowls and vases of very beautiful design.
