Origine:
Hapkido is a martial art which was created in the old
Korea. It was develloped by the old Korean Monks to
protect themselves better against attacking gangs.
But Hapkido was so effective the Korean warlords got
interested in it. And with lots of study they removed
all the unnecessary stuff and made it a complete and
effective martial art.
It took centuries for Hapkido to be introduced in the
modern Western world. It all started with World War II
the americans were thought hapkido by Korean civilians.
After the war they took their knowledge back to Western
World. And from that moment Hapkido started to become an
more and more known and after a few years it came to
Europe some more later Belgium
But this couldn't be done without the help of master
Patrick Quintelier. He has a 6th degree black belt and
is over 30 years busy with martial arts.

First our name: It's from the old "CHA-RYWCK"
Korean legend. It were warriors who trained themselves
extremely hard. The rolled down with rocks from mountains.
They hardened themselves under waterfalls. These were
ELITE warriors. Who didn't find a worthy enemy in combat
because they were just to good. Well that's the meaning of
it training in CHA-RYWCK means training with
the elite.
second the art: In Hapkido Cha-Rywck we
don't only give the traditional hapkido but also some
extra's like: Taekyon Boxing system developped by Patrick
Quintelier. You can compare it with MMA (mixed martial
arts). But we also teach a style you can compare with Wing
Chun. But now we are just talking about the fighting.
There is also an important part of healing. You see
training in Cha Rywck means a total package of martial
arts mixed with healing elements which makes it unique in
its kind. come and visit our dojang.
