Dicots have floral parts in multiples of four or five, leaves
with netted venation, vascular bundles arranged in circles, and two cotyledons
in their embryos. Flowering plants arose only once and monocots evolved from
dicots, as is evidenced by the fossil record [Solomon et. al. 1996].
