Anthophyta (Angiosperms)

The last modern division to arise is Anthophyta which evolved from the progymnosperms as well. They reproduce by forming flowers, and enclosing seeds within a fruit. Angiosperms also double fertilize, producing both a zygote and endosperm tissue, which serves as food for the seed. They are the most highly developed plant division because of the way the ovule is protected, and the way the fruit helps in seed dispersal. Animals often eat the fruits and leave the seeds in different environments.
