22 Chatham Hill Arthur Abraham Wood was born on 1 November 1885, at 22 Chatham Hill, in Chatham. He was the fifth of Frederick Louis Wood's thirteen children, and remained in Britain when his parents emigrated to Canada in 1905.

-- Was a Royal Marine in World War One. Served at sea, fought at the Battle of Jutland. Survived the war.

-- Married after the war, had two daughters and a son (who was an RAF pilot in World War Two).

-- Settled in Woolwich (S. London), worked at the General Post Office there.

-- Died in his seventies, abt. 1960.
