Where did I meet Jim? Neither of us could ever figure it out, but we both agreed that it was in the early 1960's. The only connection we could ever think of was that we both were into CB radio back then. Perhaps we met at some CB radio users meeting back then. We couldn't ever be sure. I first encountered Jim as a friend I could relate to back in the mid 80's at the Showdown tavern in Pine Bluff. He was very affable and intelligent. Many a great conversation was held with him. Jim was always after me to get into true ham radio, which I had wanted to be a part of since I was a teenager, but kept putting off. No more Jim, no more great conversations and humor, no more great anecdotes concerning his Alabama, Florida and Gulf Coast times!!! We miss him dearly. |
