| Poppy-seed cake |
| Ingredients: |
| 200 gram margarine or butter/1 cup 150 gram sugar/ 3/4 cup 1 pkg. vanillin sugar 6 eggs (yolks and whites separated) 1 teaspoon baking powder 150 gram/ 1 cup ground poppy seed 70 g walnut or almond/ 1/2 cup 1 teaspoon cinnamon apricot jam/ according to taste |
| How to make |
| Mix melted margarine well with the sugar and with yolks. Add vanillin sugar too. Add the walnut and poppy seed too and finally the cinnamon. Blend the ingrediends well. Whip the whites. Gradually add the whip to the mass and blend it well. Pour the mass into a cake tin and bake it at 150 Celsius/ 302 Fahrenheit for 60 minutes . After baking, let it cool then cut it in two crosswise and put jam between the two halves. It is ready. Enjoy the cake! |
| Walnut-almond orange cake |
| Mix the flour with the walnut, almond, the rum, orange juice and the peels in a bowl. In a different bowl mix the yolks with the melted margarine, the sugar, lemon peel, vanillin sugar and a pinch of salt. Gradually add the content of the other bowl (flour etc.) too to the mix of yolks, margarine etc. Blend them well. Whip the whites to stiff peaks and then add it them to the rest carefully. Blend them well. In a cake tin lined with baking paper bake at 170 Celsius/ 338 Fahrenheit for about 45 minutes. When ready, let it cool then cut it in two crosswise and spread marmalade or apricot jam between the two halves. Melt dark chocolate and spread it on top. Your cake is ready. Enjoy the cake! |
| Vanilla sour-cherry cake |
| 150 grams/ 0,7 cup margarine or butter 150 grams/ 1,3 cups confectioner's sugar 3 eggs (yolks and whites separated) 200 grams/ 1,6 cups flour 100 ml milk 1 tbsp vanillin aroma 1 pkg vanillin sugar 2 teaspoons baking powder as many sour cherries as you like |
| Mix the melted margarine with the cofectioner's sugar, vanillin sugar, yolks, the aroma and the flour mixed with the baking powder. Add the milk too and blend all ingredients well. Whip the whites until it is a hard whip and then gradually add it to the mass. Place the sour-cherries all over the cake and then push them gently with your palm into the cake. Pour the mass into a cake tin lined with baking powder and in a preheated oven, bake it at 160-170 Celsius/ 320 Fahrenheit for about 45 minutes. When it is ready let it cool and sprikle confectioner's sugar on top of the cake. Enjoy the cake! |
