| Stanford She is the new law; He, the fool shriven, also crazed of spirit But fallen of Eden and Grace. Again And again, alone as God, They embrace. The limbs' crest breaks; Crashing against the forsaken shores of Lethe. Passing the rusted gates of autumn, He fades and she slips away. Relentless, The Banshee cries. The smooth caress of her finger Bewildered lips have had. The stones breathe her cry. And break another vow. Hands embraced; twisted too. She also has touched him- yet they again Collide. From beside the divide, Chill between summer and frost, Slowly they fall into rusted leaves, Remembering little, foretelling less. |
