The Grant Channell Memorial

The Grant Channell Memorial, founded in 1997, is dedicated to finding a cure for melanoma cancer by supporting research of the Melanoma and Skin Cancer Program at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute.

Grant was first diagnosed with melanoma in 1989 when he was 22 years old. After a year of treatment, his prognosis was good and he was cancer-free for several years. By the summer of 1994, the cancer returned and metastasized. Sadly, Grant lost his courageous battle with melanoma on September 21, 1994.
