Betty Holst is a mother of three children, and has seven grandchildren. She has been involved in AWANA at First Baptist in Chancellor, SD since its inception in 1993. She has served several roles -- as commader, co-commander, her current title, secretary, JV director, AKX director, Chums leader and Guards leader.
A Nurse practitioner by profession, she enjoys seeing people have physical health restored; but there is no greater joy than to lead a clubber to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and thereby become spiritually whole. One of her life motto's is to "make a difference in a child's life." Affectionately, she has become known as the "church lady" to some of the youth she has mentored.
She would give this advice: AWANA is a totally wholesome program that helps kids memorize scripture and learn its meaning. Don't underestimate the power of the gospel to convict of sin! Get involved! Be a leader, bring your kids or grandkids; start a club in your own church! |
