Chapter 33: Rude Awakening
The air spread a cool scent through the air under the midnight sky as Koichi and Celia traveled the world in search of the New World city of Argund. Their travels lead them into a thick, hot desert in Old World and were forced to travel by night rather than day to avoid burning up. They rode slowly by horse across the land accompanied by a sturdy mule which carried their bags of valuables. The two travelers shared a day and night shift in order to watch over their camp and travel when they needed to so each other might sleep as they could, and Koichi was often sleeping during the day as Celia was doing so mostly hunched over on Koichi’s side during the night.
Koichi watched the night’s sky as there was not much else to look at in the middle of the desert besides monsters. Any monsters that did come near them were quickly caught notice of by Koichi’s keen sense of hearing and surviving through the wilderness. One night Koichi took note of some unusual activity going on in the midnight sky followed by a bright beam that lit up the sky for thousands of miles that danced in an explosive flare for several minutes before fading away.
The young warrior stopped his horse and mule and calmed them down from the startling scene just as he imagined most people across the planet were doing at the same time for their families. Celia awakened from her half-asleep consciousness during the commotion and joined her friend watching the scene in the sky.
"Woah, what do you think that is?" Celia asked Koichi.
"That… Looks like the same thing that appeared the same day that Ryan came with Lynn and quickly left to fight." Koichi told her.
Celia nodded and said, "Oh right, I remember!" She looked at Koichi for a moment as the bright light began to disappear from the sky and noticed her friend had his head lowered in a slight meditation, and she asked, "What are you doing?"
"If you concentrate just right you can feel something either very good or very bad happening out somewhere in the world." Koichi answered, "The voices of hundreds to thousands of people crying, but then all of the voices were over run by a louder cry of a single demonic cry that silenced them all."
"That could be anything then. Monsters are all over the world!" Celia exclaimed, "And people are always dying."
Koichi kicked the horse and mule forward and said, "Yes, don’t I know."
Celia leaned on Koichi’s back and drifted to sleep once more as Koichi rode the horse through the desert. Night became day hours later, causing the two to switch positions and camp out for the day. Koichi stopped the horse and mule and set up a large tent to lie in shelter until nightfall. He was very tired with an aching body from riding the horse all night long. Celia, on the other hand, was wide awake and was ready to stand watch all day for her friend.
Koichi shed the thick heat-protective gear he wore through the night and rested in a deep slumber in his light clothing inside the tent. To his side he always kept his sword close to him, holding it tight as if it were a loved one. Celia brought a water bottle into the tent and lightly poured it over Koichi to keep his body cool.
As the bottle of water ran dry, Celia turned out from the tent and began to recount their remaining supply of bottled water. She shook her head in disappointment when she found the bottles beginning to lack in number in relation to how long they estimated their trip to be.
"Oh no. We’ll have to find an oasis or a town that has water to sell if we want to keep going." Celia thought. She looked at Koichi’s tent and thought, "Maybe it’ll be alright if I go out and explore up ahead for a town before nightfall again so we can make a pit stop." Celia looked down at her green skin as it quickly began to glow red from the hot sun and thought, "It’s great that I’m not a normal person or I wouldn’t be able to try something like this. The heat really is irritating, though. Come on, Celia, you can do it alone!"
The young Guardian set a belt around her waist and shoulder and equipped herself with a spear she had taken for self defense at Master’s house. She then lifted a bag of money and valuables to use to buy things with over her shoulder and left the camp area in the direction given to her by the map the travelers used on their journey. Celia was very certain that everything would be fine throughout her entire exploration trip, but to her dismay she found herself after several hours with dry, burning skin, despite her green skin tone, and a severe thirst for something to drink. She crawled slowly through the desert using her spear as a crutch to walk on.
"Good one, Celia, who advised you to try this?" Celia asked herself.
She stopped in the middle of her journey and hovered her hands over her body and submitted her healing magic powers through her baking body. At the cost of much of her own energy supply, her magic rejuvenated her body as if she was washed with life giving water, healing her skin and rebooting her body from any dire need of water for the time being. However, she was never given the proper training from Ryan or any other Guardian in the way of recovering her energy by charging back up, and it would be only a matter of time before she could not heal herself any longer without the proper means of rest.
Celia continued onward despite her need to rest and recover her lost energy. She thought it was better to keep moving rather than stand still in the hot desert to think of what to do in case she became lost or unable to move any further. The sand around her was lifted up by a hot and heavy wind and was blown at her face and into her clothing. The sand irritated her eyes and skin and tickled her from under her clothes.
The youthful Guardian was delighted as she saw a small camp set up ahead of her and hurried her pace to seek shelter from the heat for a while. There were only four tents set up in the desert camp from what Celia could make out, and the whole area was surrounded by what looked like a magical barrier that shielded the camp from the blistering sand. She noticed two people working around outside the camp as the area came more into visual focus. These people wore strange suits that covered their whole bodies from head to two, which was no doubt a means to help shield from sun burns and the bright sunlight.
As Celia entered into the field she called out to the men, "Hey! Over here! Can I get a hand?"
The two men looked up as they heard Celia’s voice pushing through the howling wind and were frightened by the sight of a young lady running through the desert without any protection. They ran to Celia’s aid and brought her into the camp safely.
"What the hell do ye think ye’re doing out here without any protection, las?" One man exclaimed.
Celia gave the man a pleasant smile and told them, "I’m just looking for water for my trip."
"Look at ye! Ye’re burning up under the heat!" the man exclaimed, "There be sunburns all over your body, las!"
The other man opened up the nearest tent and carried Celia inside. Inside the tent there were several other men lying around resting for the day who were quickly alerted by Celia’s entrance. As ordered were barked out by the two men to obtain help for the young lady the men scrambled around the tent, cleared a bed mat for her, and set her down for rest. They began applying lotion onto her skin to help the burns, but little did they know that as soon as Celia was well rested her own body took over and recovered from the burns in mere moments.
One man from the back of the crowd looked down at Celia and recognized her from a time before and exclaimed, "Look, its Lady Celia of Fonan-Kal!" The other men looked back at this one man in interest, and he reached out and said, "I’m so happy to see that ye are still alive, Lady Celia! Long has it been since we once set foot upon the beloved castle we once called home!"
"Fonan-Kal?" Celia thought. Her memory snapped and she thought, "Oh yeah, I remember now!" She began to sit up, but the men around her forced her back down to rest again, and she said, "Oh, are you from Fonan-Kal, too? What’s your name and what did you do there?"
The man bowed to Celia and said, "My name be Oxpaha. I used ta be but a humble servant under the late king." He waved his hand back and around the tent and explained, "Now I be a diggar and a miner fer this diggan organization."
"Fonan-Kal?" Another man asked. He approached Oxpaha in excitement and asked, "You mean the castle where the great Koichi served?"
Oxpaha nodded and said, "Aye. Last I be remembarin, Koichi and Lady Celia be goin off tagethar with a strangar who’s ta be marrying the Princess." He scratched his head at that thought and then asked, "By tha way, m’lady, iffin ye don’t mind me askin. Where be Koichi and ye company from long ago?"
Celia gave a slight smile and told them, "Oh, Koichi’s still with me. He’s sleeping back at my camp right now about a half day’s walk away from here. I went out ahead of him for some more water for our trip to the next town."
"The gods bless ye, Lady Celia! That be why ye can travel in such conditions as these!" Oxpaha exclaimed, assuming Celia was human.
The man next to Oxpaha kneeled down near Celia and asked, "Please, m’lady, can I meet the great Koichi, too? My whole life I’ve dreamed of challenging him and testing my own abilities as a fighter!"
"Easy thar, Kynak. I be sure that Koichi be not far. Ye get yer chance soon enough ta meet him." Oxpaha told his workmate, pulling him back away from Celia.
She noticed more people entering into the tent to see what the commotion was all about. Celia could tell that a lot of these men had not seen a woman in a long time around the area, let alone anyone from outside their work group, just by looking into their eyes. The young Guardian began feeling at a bit of discomfort under watch of all of the eager eyes.
Celia sat up and told everyone, "Well Oxpaha, and everyone, thank you for your help and hospitality. I really need to get more water for my trip, though."
"We can help you!" a voice from the crowd chimed in.
"Yeah, we can even bring the great Koichi to our camp and restock your supplies!" another voice chimed in.
Celia smiled for a moment at all the generous offers, even though she knew that several of the guys must have wanted a shot at her. The crowd continued to toss up more ideas to help Celia out until a voice overruled them all.
"Wait. Whose camp and supplies do you guys you’re getting into?" the voice asked. A wolf man in another protective suit cleared through the crowd of workers, looked down at Celia, and said, "If anyone’s getting anything out of me and my organization, they’re going to go through me first."
The two stared at each other for several moments before Celia broke the silence by saying, "So you must be the boss around here? Hi!"
"Call me Sjef." The wolf man told Celia sharply. He looked over Celia even more, studying her green appearance, and then said, "You’re different. Definitely not human-like. Kind of like a guy I once knew long ago."
Celia stood up before Sjef and said, "I get that a lot." She patted herself off, removing what sand was left from her clothes, and then asked, "So what can I do that’ll get your approval?"
Sjef walked passed Celia and sat down in one of the chairs in the tent. He leaned to one side and rested his furry head on his furry hand while he thought about the matter.
"You’ll help us move something in one of our more recent mining expeditions." Sjef told Celia.
The other men in the tent began stirring in discomfort with what Sjef suggested, and one of the workers stepped up and said, "But Lady Celia’s just a girl, sir! There’s no way she could help us move that big thing!"
"Oh, that’s to be determined." Sjef told the man.
Celia looked down and to the side and said, "Well I have been feeling pretty weak and sick for the last six months." She looked back towards Sjef and raised her arms in a flexing position and exclaimed, "But I’m still pretty strong!"
Sjef stood up and approached Celia face to face again and extended his furry hand out to her and said, "You’re hired then. Celia, was it? Welcome to the team." As Celia took Sjef’s hand and shook it, Sjef raised his left hand and said, "Alright, wake the ogre and let’s gear up for digging."
The workers began rushing around the tent in a hurry to put their gear together for the coming trip. Sjef placed his protective mask back over his head and leaned against the frame of the tent exit with his arms folded as his men rustled through their things. Celia sat down in one of the chairs in the back of the tent as she watched and relaxed into something more comforting than a horse saddle.
"An ogre? I’ve heard about those from Master’s teachings." Celia thought, "I wonder how big they really are."
The flap of the entrance opened up and two men entered the tent pulling long rope restraints. Soon after the two men entered a huge nine foot bald humanoid figure entered with a massive body. One rope was tied around the ogre’s wrists, restraining him from moving them anywhere but in front of him, and the other rope was secured around the giant’s neck. He moved in a slow manner, yet he was calm like he was used to being held captive this way.
"Good morning. Ready for work?" Sjef greeted the ogre as he looked up at him.
The ogre nodded and said, "Ryar, master take Bulforg more digging. Bulforg ready to help."
Celia stood up from the chair and approached Bulforg slowly and looked over him before exclaiming, "Wow, so you’re what an ogre is?"
Bulforg looked to the side and jumped in surprise at the sight of Celia.
"Master, who being this green vegetable?" Bulforg asked Sjef as he shook, "You not sell Bulforg to slave trader?"
Sjef stood up and smacked Bulforg’s arm and said, "No, ogre, you’re not being traded away. This girl here’s going to help us move that rock blocking our way."
The ogre kneeled down for a closer look at Celia. He squinted his eyes and focused closely at the young woman to obtain a better visual of her features.
"Hi there Bulforg, my name’s Celia." Celia greeted Bulforg.
She reached forward and placed her hand on the ogre’s forehead and slowly felt around his face. Bulforg grunted at this in confusion and eyed Celia’s arm. He stood up as Celia’s hand met his chin, causing the men holding him down to fling up into the air slightly by the ropes.
"Ce-le-uh?" Bulforg mumbled as he thought hard on the name. He shook his head and concluded by saying, "No, Celeuh being vegetable! You vegetable! Vegetable not bunny."
Celia looked back at Sjef and asked, "Who’s bunny?"
Sjef walked around Bulforg and explained, "The ogre has a problem with names. He’d rather refer to them as objects he thinks they are. Luckily he doesn’t like to eat many vegetables." The wolf man stopped at the back of the tent and looked back at Celia and said, "Bunny, to him, is some guy we once knew about six months ago. Lord knows where he is now, but if it weren’t for him we wouldn’t be here today."
"Oh, what was Bunny’s…" Celia began to ask.
Sjef looked at her with a sharp look and snapped, "None of your concern, girly!"
Celia felt her heart skip a beat from Sjef’s bark, causing her to freeze up and jerk back a bit. Her eyes opened wide in fright as Sjef’s eyes met hers and gleamed a nasty gleam. As she pulled herself together she put her hands on her chest and breathed deeply.
"Come on men. Let’s get to that digging tunnel." Sjef ordered everyone in the tent. He walked towards the exit of the tent and said, "You, too, girly. You’re riding with me."
The wolf man grabbed Celia’s arm and pulled her out of the tent and back into the blazing hot sun. From another tent the workers rallied out dozens of horses that were assigned to be used for traveling to their destination. Celia looked back as they rode off into the desert that unlike all of the workers, Bulforg was provided with no protection gear. The ogre seemed to be to the workers a giant free slave tool to use to help move big and heavy things that ordinary humans and mortals could not. Sand and stones were tossed up and thrown at the ogre by the others even as they were traveling, leaving him laughed at like an easy fool, and yet through all of this Celia noticed Bulforg did nothing to retort or retaliate.
It was much deeper into the desert than Celia had imagined it would have been before the group stopped. They circled around an opening into the ground that was secured by another magical barrier. The sand was dug quite deep which revealed a set of stone stairs which appeared unnaturally perfectly cut for a natural form of nature. Each worker dismounted from their horses and removed their bags of tools from the horses’ sides. Sjef removed a belt and sword from his horse’s bags, which he equipped himself with in a leader-like fashion.
"We never know when a monster or two might appear." Sjef explained to Celia, "If one does it gets nasty and we could lose work."
Celia nodded and placed her hand over her shoulder and onto her spear and said, "Okay! I’ll be on guard, too."
Sjef waved at his workers and began leading everyone down through the unusual tunnel. Celia followed the leader down in the middle of the group, but she was not aware that the sun had begun to set, leaving her out of time to return to her friend before he would awaken. Within the tunnel Celia found rich decorations of carvings along the walls between the jagged rocks that were formed from all the digging and searching.
Off and on the party of diggers had encountered a variety of different beasts that had moved into the tunnel to live. Monsters such as stray rock and sand golems, venomous giant snakes, and desert orcs delayed the workers from reaching the end so that they could do their jobs. Each man took their weapons in hand and fought their way through to the very end in battles that were both easy and dangerous. In the end of every fight Sjef made sure that each of his workers received any proper medical treatment that was needed and gave them a hard time while they were being helped.
At the end of the passages in the dungeon Celia was shown the object that Sjef was requesting to be moved. From the middle of the untouched earth was what appeared to be a large stone arm, and around it appeared to be a frame of some sort that looked like a doorway. The workers began tossing up ropes and tied them tightly around the limb-like figure, and Sjef placed the ends in Celia’s hands and closed them in a tight grip.
"Alright girly, let’s see if you can make this budge." Sjef told her.
Celia looked at the rope and held it as tight as she could and then looked up at the wall of stone and earth. She thought how grateful she should be to be only asked to move a large, heavy object for a group of diggers for assistance on her trip as she positioned herself for the pull. The young lady began to pull at the rope as hard as she could, trying not to slip and lose her balance, but she soon realized that not even she alone could pull what ever it was on the other end through the rocks.
She looked around at the men, who seemed to only be standing around and watching her try, and she cleared her throat and asked in an annoyed voice, "A little help guys?"
The workers around her all jumped and positioned themselves behind Celia and took hold on the rope from the back. They all pulled with their combined strength, but they all still reached no success. Sjef then released Bulforg and placed him in front of Celia for additional pull power, but even with the great ogre’s help they were unable to move it. The walls began to rumble, causing dirt to drop to the ground over them, as they worked together. For a long time they tried, but when they realized that even with Celia’s help they still could not move the object they stopped and took a long break.
"Well what do you think we should do now?" Celia asked Sjef.
Sjef shrugged and said, "We’ll figure out a way to get that thing unstuck eventually. Unfortunately for you this means you don’t get anything from me."
Celia jerked back away from Sjef and let out a sigh, but she nodded in agreement with the wolf man. She walked away to a corner and sat down by herself. The workers looked at Celia as she sat there helplessly and then turned at their boss and scowled at him. In a noisy roar they each complained to him at the same time to help Celia anyway, but Sjef only shrugged his shoulders at his men, not changing his decision.
"Look guys. I don’t care what you think." Sjef told them all, "The girl couldn’t give us the push to get through here, so I’m not giving her anything. She should be happy enough that we gave her a free ride here."
"Push." Celia thought quietly under the noise. She stood up and began knocking on the dirty wall of earth and stone and listened carefully and thought, "Maybe it’s too big to pull through, but who knows what’s on the other side." She continued to knock on the wall and thought, "It sounds like there could be a really big room back there." The young lady poked Bulforg’s side and asked, "Bulforg, would you help me?"
Bulforg looked down at Celia in a curious fashion and asked, "What vegetable want with Bulforg?"
Celia waved at the ogre and asked, "Would you come over here and put your hands on this wall of dirt?" She turned around and put her hands on the wall as an example, leaning towards it in a pushing fashion, and she said, "Like this."
Bulforg approached the wall and placed his hands on the surface and pushed at it, and Celia positioned herself under Bulforg and joined him in pushing at the dirt. The whole area began to rumble again, only this time the earth on the walls and surrounding the stone figure began to break off to the ground. Every man in the tunnel went silent and turned to the two at work and watched in amaze as the next path opened up. Sjef’s let out a pleased smile as his workers left him alone as if he knew Celia would be able to think of something to do.
Celia removed the additional rubble from around the large statue and looked over it. The workers were able to recognize the statue as the great earth demon, Titan, who held his right arm out as if he were reaching out to grab something. The room itself was tiled with brown and black along the floor, and it glimmered with a light that reflected off statues of various earth monsters that surrounded the room. Sjef began ordering his workers to examine each statue and to take what treasures they could find as they were introduced to this new room.
"Alright men, good job." Sjef called out, rubbing his furry hands together, "Looks like we’ve finally gotten to the bottom of this thanks to our little friend here." He looked ahead towards the source of light in the room and said, "I’m going to look ahead and see what that is before we move on. Don’t follow me."
Celia looked around the large room further as Sjef continued without his crew. As the men looted the treasures from the dungeon Celia began to get a bad feeling about the place they were in. She placed her hand on the statue of Titan and felt the structure from the top of his leg down to his foot. Upon closer inspection she noticed there was a container underneath the statue which was fairly hidden inside the dirt covering the bottom. She placed her hands around the container and pulled the drawer out, which felt heavier than most things she had ever tried moving, and inside that container she found a large pillar-like club that was much larger than any man in the room. This pillar had inscribed upon it the name "cólera esmagadora", and as Celia brushed her hand upon the pillar a feeling of utmost dread shot from her memory.
The young Guardian remembered a massacre over many men from long ago while trying to protect a home land. She remembered watching skulls splitting and bodies crushed by a pillar like this. One feint memory of two sinister men, one of which used this same pillar, tuned into her head before she jumped back in fright. Celia pushed her back against the wall and burst out in tears when everything became clear to her. Her heart raced, unsure of what to do, but she ran for the entrance to the next room where Sjef left to in order to stop him. She ran to catch him to warn Sjef about the Guardian she once met by the name of Ro`Ten.
Sjef stood in the middle of the next room glancing at a giant crystal. He looked around the crystal and tapped at it with his furry hands to ensure it was a real crystal. The wolf man then proceeded to take his sword in hand and raised it at the crystal, taking aim to cut off a portion of the crystal to claim as his own.
Celia ran up to Sjef and cried, "No, don’t hit the crystal, Sjef!"
Sjef looked back at Celia and grunted, "What do you want now? Isn’t it enough that I’m going to give you supplies for the rest of your trip?" He turned back to the giant crystal and said, "Be gone, girly."
With his final words, Sjef hit the crystal with his sword, sounding off a loud clang throughout the dungeon. He raised his sword again and hit the crystal once more, causing bits of it to fly off in chips. Celia grabbed Sjef’s arm and held it back as he went to hit the crystal another time, but rather than taking Celia’s actions kindly, Sjef hit the young lady down and away with his other hand. He snorted at Celia and turned back and hit the crystal again, only this time instead of hearing Celia’s plea to stop he heard the loud cry of several of his men.
Sjef turned away from the crystal again and casually walked out from the crystal chamber. In the large room from before, Sjef’s men were being assaulted by the statue of Titan. The large demonic statue had come to life to the sound of the crystal being attacked in the next room. The next thing he saw was the statues of monsters surrounding Titan coming to life one by one. Each man took up their own weapon and began to fight for their life as every creature sought out for the blood of the invaders.
"Oh no. What’s going on?" Sjef mumbled. He turned back to Celia and yelled, "What the hell is this?" He pointed at her with anger and yelled, "This is all your fault!"
Sjef looked up beyond Celia towards the crystal and thought about his own actions. He noticed that the area he had hit with his sword had begun to crack. The crack expanded all over the rock formation slowly, and from within the cracks began to pour a strange liquid. He leaped ran passed Celia again and used his hands to cover up the leaking cracks, letting out a scared, yet hysterical laugh.
"No, what’s this?" Sjef cried in an insane matter, "Don’t break! Stay together! Please?"
The crystal only began leaking more liquid at a faster rate, and a bright light began shooting through the cracks as the crystal fell apart. The whole dungeon began rumbling again, and the crystal broke open in an explosion, shooting the shards out like shrapnel. Sjef was sent flying back and collapsed on Celia, forcing them both on the ground. The wolf man’s body was covered with shards from the crystal, causing him to bleed from many places. Celia pushed Sjef off from her and checked his body, and she began to remove the chunks of crystal shards from his skin, only making him bleed faster.
"Sjef! Don’t worry, I’ll heal you right up!" Celia told the dying leader.
She held her hands over Sjef’s body, but she could not provide any healing power. She had forgotten that she had been out of energy for any healing spells since her solo trip through the desert.
Sjef cough and laughed at Celia and said, "Girly, you idiot." He slowly moved his arm towards where the crystal once stood and said, "I told you we… shouldn’t have been afraid." As he struggled to keep talking he put his other hand over his chest, "It’s… just a… another kid like you."
Monsters began entering from the other room, carrying torn limbs from the workers they had killed in their mouths and hands. They surrounded the two in the room, letting out loud hisses and snarls at them. Titan entered the room slowly after the other monsters, causing violent quakes with every step. He looked down with annoyance at them as he raised his arms for a final smashing blow to end both of their lives.
"Girl… Celia… Listen…" uttered Sjef, "I… I know y’er not human. That’s a… a given… If you… ever… get out of here… If… you ever meet… a non-human named Joel… tell him… I said good luck."
"Joel?" Celia gasped.
Titan let out a mighty roar and brought his arms down towards the two, but Sjef’s words fueled Celia, strengthening her body and awakening the energy within her to roll away with Sjef in hand and evade the demon. As Celia tumbled near the surrounding circle of monsters, they snapped and clawed at the two, forcing Celia to rebound away and back onto her feet quickly. She placed her spear in hand and leaned Sjef across her empty shoulder to rest on.
Titan staggered back into balance from his missing swing and glared at Celia again in a disgruntled fashion and charged at her once more with a loud roar, but before Titan was able to swing again he was held back by another large figure. Celia looked behind the demon and saw Bulforg restraining him as hard as he could. The ogre gritted his teeth and was sweating buckets of perspiration trying to hold Titan down. Eventually after struggling to break free of Bulforg’s grasp, Titan bent over, lifting the ogre up onto his back, and then charged back into the jagged walls of stone. Bulforg let out a loud, beastly cry as his back was pierced in many places by the jagged stones. Titan snarled and moved forward away from the wall, but Bulforg still held on tight in order to protect his friends. Titan rolled his head about slowly and charged his back into the wall again, further piercing Bulforg’s body through.
Celia charged forward to save Bulforg from Titan, but as she reached the circle of monsters she was forced back in by the oncoming gnashing of teeth and swiping of claws. It was as if the monsters were telling her to stay where she was so that she could be next in line to suffer and die. It was then an ear piercing sound blasted through the area, causing every conscious being in the area of the dungeon to roll around in agony. Celia dropped Sjef down to the ground and covered her large pointy ears and eventually fell to her knees as the sound continued. The monsters began running around in a confused fashion as the sound entered their heads.
As the sound faded away, Celia looked up through the entrance to the room and saw a cloaked figure standing there with his right arm extended to the wall. A metallic claw attached to a glove on the extended hand ran along the wall causing sparks to fly along with the loud shrieking noise. Upon further inspection Celia looked into the cloaked figure and saw Koichi’s face. He lowered his right arm, reached into his cloak with his left arm, and then drew out his sword. Koichi’s eyes burned as he looked over the blood thirsty monsters and torn, dead workers.
"Monsters. Harm Princess Celia or anyone associated with her and I’ll send you all to hell." Koichi bravely announced as he positioned himself with his sword, ready for combat.
