Chapter 27: Rescue

Joel slowly regained feeling through his body and senses. He was unsure how much time had passed while he was unconscious. He nodded his head a bit and tried moving his arms about. This time he felt his body stretched out on some form of a table, and his arms and legs were restrained with a similar tight feeling around them as with his last restraints. His body still felt weaker than it should naturally feel, and he was missing most of his clothing from his body. A long, cold breeze shot through the room around his body, and Joel shivered briefly as if the feeling of death was coming around him.

"Hello, boy! Welcome to eternity!" a familiar chuckle came from the side.

"You must be the scientist I was talking to in my cell earlier." Joel guessed, trying to find the man through his blindfold.

"One of many!" he said with another loud cackle. A sound of snapping fingers was heard, and then, "Release his blindfold so he can see who will be tearing him apart!"

"Nice." Joel mumbled as he felt his blindfold being removed.

As his eyes came into focus he looked over the scrawny man in a white coat standing near him with a table of medical tools. Around him were several other people who resembled doctors with face masks on. They resembled nothing like fighting types in Joel’s eyes, but there was nothing he was able to do even if he wanted at this point. Joel glanced further around the room and realized that they were in a room with a large audience window above them. Many people were packing into the room above around them to watch the doctors tear into the two Guardians. Along the floor stood many guards ready with their weapons in case something happened in the operation room with the doctors and the two captives..

"Why don’t you just kill me completely before you work on my body? It’d be a lot less gruesome for the general audience you have here." Joel told them.

Another doctor stepped up and said with a much more focused and deeper voice, "We already know that you would be more useful to use alive, because we could research on your bodies nonstop."

The first doctor let out a snort and said, "Eheh, yes. And while you’re still in one piece, why don’t you say hello to your friend over there?" Joel looked around and found another table restraining another figure as he heard, "He hasn’t been feeling very well since this morning and needs some tender loving care."

Ryan’s body was laying there across the room from Joel on another table, and his body was still blackened and disfigured from his desperate attempt to send out an SOS signal to Lynn. His clothes had been removed and his body had already been went through and examined slightly, as Joel could see placed where the doctors had slight pickings from while he was out.

"You destroyed him!" Joel cried, beginning to burn inside.

A surge of red energy began to flow around him like lightning as the anger ran power through his veins, but as the guards noticed Joel’s body flaring up, one of them slammed a button on a remote they held onto. The Guardian instantly was shocked and lost his grasp on his angry energy, and he felt his body go limp as a pulse shot through his arms and legs. Joel gritted his teeth and growled in annoyance as the scientists laughed at him.

"Don’t do that! We need you more lifelike than the other one so we can make a good comparison!" the scrawny scientist in front said with a smile.

"We didn’t destroy him. He did that to himself!" A third scientist with darker skin and black glasses told Joel, "He’s near death, but his energy source is keeping him alive at the very last thread. Due to our technology he’s so weak that he can’t regenerate himself fast enough!"

Joel threw his head down to the side and glared at the floor and thought, "Dang it, what am I going to do? I’m stuck here!" He looked through the corners of his eyes towards Ryan again and listened close through the constant sounds of other surrounding things, and he heard a weak and quiet hum vibrate through the room and thought, "That must be his core at work. I just hope they don’t try removing his lungs or looking at his brain or core, or he’s done for. He’s already lost a lot of blood." He closed his eyes and thought deeply to his past and thought, "If only I could still use the Slayer transformation, I could probably overload the circuitry." He shook his head and thought, "But even if I could use it, who knows what I’d become again."

Lynn tightened the soldier’s cap over his head and then peeked over the corner at the entrance she was directed to. The uniform was heavy and added much heat to her body over her own clothing. She constantly moved her body around to catch every whisk of cold air that passed by to keep her body temperature down. A line of tanks and jeeps cleared up and Lynn made haste to get at the back of the line to follow the troops in. She looked around and made sure no one was watching her and then ducked down and crawled under the jeep at the far back. She rolled over onto her back and lifted herself onto the bottom of the vehicle and waited for it to move in.

Her face puffed up in disgust as she hanged under the jeep undercover and thought, "This is a lot worse than they made it in the movies!"

She noticed several pairs of booted feet approach the jeep for inspection before the soldiers in the vehicle were allowed in. Lynn heard them speaking above and patting the jeep down in search for any possible stowaways or intruders. She tightened her body up against the trinkets she held on to so she would be less visible, and sure enough the officers ducked down and checked under jeep.

"This’d be a lot easier if I had a real ID card!" Lynn thought as she tried to stay silent.

The boots moved away from the jeep and Lynn felt herself moving over the ground. She let out a slight sigh of relief as the rumbling vehicle advanced into the base. She looked ahead and noticed the pad beginning to open up, and as the jeep started to descend Lynn let go and dropped onto the ground on her back. She cringed and bit her lip tight as the shock rippled through her back.

"A lot worse than the movies!" Lynn thought as the jeep passed over her. She scurried in after the jeep, still matching the vehicle’s speed as they went down, thinking "I’m almost inside! Just one more bump to avoid getting crushed by!"

Once fully underneath the shadows of the underground passage, Lynn paused for a moment and waited for the jeep to pass over her completely. She stood up and ran over to the right wall and stood against it, thinking about where she was going. Lynn looked closely at herself in the darkness and then realized how dirty she was from hanging under the car. She knew her face and hands were filthy, and her suit must have been dirtied enough.

"Gotta find a bathroom!" she thought.

With a quick sprint down the dark ramp she was able to catch up with the line she had originally followed in. It seemed like the tunnel began to turn and spin around in circles. This was due to the fact that the land Traquo was built over was worth so much, and the military most likely needed to save expenses. A bright light began to show ahead, which informed Lynn that she was approaching another check point and the entrance to the actual underground base. She looked over herself as she was able to see clearer and took note that she looked a bit worse than she had thought.

"State your name and identification code, soldiers!" Lynn heard one of the guards ahead tell the two men on the jeep.

Lynn bounced back in slight surprise and panicked as she heard the demand. She looked around as she hopped quickly from one foot to another, and then remembered that soldier uniforms have name tags sewn on their fronts. She began to pat her suit down along the top in an attempt to uncover the tag from the black soot from the jeep. When she found it she looked close at it and read the name "Beach" and the code "53CU217Y" She squinted her eyes and tried to lock the code into her memory as she began approaching the gate on her own once the jeep went ahead.

The guards of the gate glared at Lynn in suspicion, and the left guard asked, "Who do you think you are, soldier?"

Lynn pointed innocently at her dirty self and asked, "Me, sir?"

"Yes you! What is your name and identification code?" the man barked.

"Hmm, let’s see, what was it…" Lynn thought hard to herself. The looked up at the man and said, "Breech, code security!" She paused herself before saying anything else and went pale as she thought, "Breech security? Security… breech?"

"Security breech? What are you talking about, woman?" the other guard demanded.

Lynn returned to normal and quickly waved her hands around in denial, saying "Oh no, I was just saying, isn’t that what my last name and ID code sound like if you were to turn the numbers to words?"

The men stood silently without a change of expression in their faces before the left one asked, "Why are you so dirty, soldier?"

"Dirty? Me?" Lynn asked quickly, looking from side to side again. She then retorted with, "You’re kidding, right? I’m the team’s grease monkey!" She looked at them for a moment, wondering if they were following along, "I’ve been working on cars, trucks, jeeps, tanks, you name it!" The two men still stood there looking at her, and she dropped her shoulders and said, "Yeah, yeah, I know I need a shower."

The silence still continued from the two men as if they didn’t believe the small woman in front of them. She began to sweat nervously in front of them as she tried to maintain her proper posture. She thought back to the war movies she used to watch at her home and cleared her throat as she assumed positions of attention from those movies.

The guard on the right rudely blew at her face in an attempt to blow away the soot cover her and then said, "Get through the showers then and then get back to work, agent 53CU217Y."

Lynn perked up with a smile and salute and said, "Yes sir!" She ran by the two guards and then began to show her slight worry and thought, "I hope I didn’t make it too obvious that I’m faking it." She looked up at the cameras around the area as she moved through the crowds of guards and thought, "They’re definitely watching me now after that one. Oh well. I can’t forget what I learned in Old World and keep my confidence up!"

All around the underground construction there were huge rooms filled with resources for the military. There were many forms of ammunitions in some rooms while in other rooms there were supplies of food and drinks. It appeared to Lynn that the people of Traquo had constructed an underground shelter in case of another deadly hazard. She could not seem to locate a restroom of any kind anywhere in the underground base, though. Lynn looked around and reached her arm out and randomly grabbed someone to pull to the side with her. The soldier was an older man who seemed like he had seen a lot of experience in his days.

"What? Can’t you see I’m busy?" he grunted.

Lynn looked up at the man and let out a glimmering sparkle from her eyes to his and asked, "I’m sorry, but I’m kind of new here, and I’m still learning my way around! Can you tell me where the bathrooms are?"

The man looked down at her with a disgruntled face and then pointed out over the crowd towards a smaller entrance and said, "Are you blind? It’s over there!"

The man shook his head and began running back to where he was going, and Lynn called out, "Thanks a lot!" She began to run through the flow of crowd again with a determined smile as she thought, "Finally! I hate being dirty!"

There were two doors to go through for Lynn to enter the bathroom area for security and perverted safety reasons. In the first room after the entry way there were several sinks ready to be used for the washing of hands and face and generally anything that did not require the showers. Lynn could already hear the misty sounds coming from the next rooms and the people using the showers. She quickly washed her hands as to not waste any more time, removing her dark and dirty looks and then splashed water over her face and scrubbed herself clean. She looked up and grabbed a clean towel from the towel racks and ran into a toilet cube to change out of her suit and clothes. When she was done stripping her clothes and wrapping herself with the towel she exited the cube and placed her clothes to the side in a storage box and then entered the shower room.

Lynn closed her eyes and breathed in deeply with relaxation as the warm mist hit her body. She walked forward and began looking for a shower for herself, and as she opened her eyes she was met bumping in with another figure. Lynn focused her vision at the other and shook her head. A guy was standing there looking at her in offense. Her breath suddenly stopped as she looked at him, and she looked around the shower room at everyone else, seeing how the room was filled with a mixture of men and women taking showers.

"Can I help you?" the man asked in an irritated tone.

Lynn shrunk back in disgust and said, "No, no thanks." She turned around and began moving away, "I’ll pretend I didn’t see that. I’ll just pretend I was never here!" She then ran out of the shower room and cried, "Military people are so gross!"

As she reentered the room before, Lynn grabbed her clothes and put them back on. Her face was red and steamed as if he had taken several showers at a time, but it was only from her embarrassment and temper. She reached out for her uniform, but she could not locate it anywhere that she had placed it. Lynn looked out from the toilet cube and found a note in place of the uniform instead.

Lynn picked up the note and read it through, "Beach, if you want your uniform back you’ll have to sneak out through the crowd and hand pay me $50. Signed, the Panty Thief"

She gritted her teeth and hung her shoulders down as if the world had been placed on her shoulders and thought, "Man, what are people going to think when they see someone in plain clothing walk around in here?" She stood up straight and crossed her arms and thought, "Well I saw some people here and there going around without their uniforms, right? I’ll have to play it cool!" She nodded her head and began making her way for the exit until she stopped in her tracks and thought, "Who’d go around calling themselves the ‘Panty Thief’?"

Lynn shook her head and continued to exit the bathrooms. As she closed the door and looked around she noticed that most everyone had stopped in their place and was looking up at many different TV screens. The speakers boomed loud for everyone’s ears to hear, and the newly installed TVs were bright in color. Lynn tried to get a good view at what people were looking for, but with her small body it was hard to get around all the bigger people. In the center of the room there was a large artistic statue formation dedicated to the military, and Lynn decided that she would have to make it to the statue and climb up on top of it to see the TV screens. Getting through the crowd was easy due to Lynn’s size, and with her practice at athletic events she was able to get up high enough to get a better look at the screens.

"If we can have your attention, ladies and gentlemen, faithful soldiers of Traquo!" a voice called out in an echo from the loud speakers, "We present to you the monsters we have captured. One of which launched an attack on our city not even a year ago." The man in the TV screen motioned the camera towards the two Guardians and then zoomed up to Joel, "We will soon engage in a dissection of the blonde spiky haired one here for research purposes. You may proceed home if you wish, soldiers, as we understand that this may not be fit for most of your stomachs."

A sudden wave of anxiety struck over Lynn, causing her heart to race suddenly and sickly. Most of the people standing all around her began to shake their heads and walk away. They all began to converse between each other about the sickening thoughts of the dissection of something much like human. The other soldiers continued to stand and watch in stunned awe or in protest of the idea. Soon the entire entry hall was emptied out of all but several small groups of soldiers standing around with their attention drawn towards the monitor.

Lynn hopped down to the ground and looked around frantically and thought, "What do I do? Where do I go?" She beamed a glance back towards the huge screen and thought, "I’m running out of time!"

As she hopped about on her feet from one side to another a pair of wary guards entered the large entry hall. The spotted Lynn standing there and immediately identified her as an illegal entrant. Lynn heard the guards shouting out at her and quickly drew out her hoop weapons as the guards brought out their attack clubs for necessary melee combat.

Lynn positioned herself for a fight and said, "My clothes made me stick out better than I thought!"

"Come with us quietly, lady. Don’t make us hurt you!" one of the guards exclaimed.

"Tell me where that picture is being broadcasted from or I’ll hurt you!" Lynn determinately told the larger men.

The guards shook their heads in disbelief and one of them said, "Alright lady, you’re asking for it."

The large muscular masses advanced towards Lynn quickly, batting their clubs in their hands. Lynn bounced back behind the statue she was standing in front of and crossed her arms together in front of her chest. She let in a deep breath and then kicked away from the statue several feet as the guards pounced at her, and Lynn activated the blades around her hoops to rise and swung them both towards the statue. The guards ducked out of the way as the sharp circular weapons flew at them, covering themselves in fear of being beheaded. As the hoop blades hit the large statue it began to creak and fall to the side. Its shadow started to grow as it gained momentum, and the guards picked their feet up and crawled away. The statue was too big, though, and caught the two men under it.

The girl put up her hoops and approached the two guards slowly with a look of desperation over her face. They were struggling to get loose from under the massive pressure that the statue was putting on them. Their hands were down at their sides trying to push up and reach for their guns, but before Lynn could ask the men any further questions their bodies gave out and they fell unconscious. The young heroine stamped her feet on the ground and then kicked the broken statue harshly.

It was not too late before she began her search again when she was interrupted by the sound of the monitor again and the same voice sounding off, "For those of you who are still there watching, we are pleased to present to you the anatomy of the demon body." The man in the screen waved his hand back at Joel as he spoke, "Notice how his body looks like a naturally fit human male body?" He pointed up at Joel’s hair and said, "But notice how perfectly his hair stands up like this. Surely this isn’t the work of poor hygiene!"

"Those jerks! Only I’m allowed to make those sorts of comments!" Lynn growled in jealousy.

"What other features does the mighty demon race have in its body, though?" the man asked through the large viewing screen, "We’re going to find out as we take a direct look inside him."

Lynn could hear the few people still around her talking about what was going on, hearing stuff like, "That’s just really humane. Why would they treat something like him that way? Wonder what PETM would say to something like this."

The doctor in the screen turned to Joel and approached him closely and asked, "So before we take you apart, do you have anything you’d like to say?" He came up closer to Joel and whispered, "Before your mouth drops open as you scream in agony as we take you apart while you’re still alive?"

Joel had been hanging down from his braces as if he were sleeping. His body made no sound as he rocked there slowly. Suddenly he perked up and looked straight into the camera, his eyes glowing slightly in anger.

"E 522." Joel said quickly before he dropped down and went blank again.

The doctors all looked at him for a moment before letting out a chuckle. The lead doctor smacked his face with a grin of a torture master on his face. Lynn dropped her mouth as she tried to make sense out of Joel.

"What the hell does E 522 mean?" She thought to herself. She looked around quickly and ran up to the nearest bunch of soldiers watching the television in the large hall and tried to ask them, "Now what do you think the bugger meant by that?"

She tried to act as casual as she could around the uniformed soldiers without her own to use. The three soldiers looked down at Lynn briefly from between each other and the television and one nodded at her.

"It sounds like he’s referring to a room down on floor E called 522." He told Lynn.

"Oh, thanks!" Lynn exclaimed, "I’m kind of new here, so I didn’t quite understand."

The man nodded and smiled, and one of his colleagues patted her head and said, "Understandable. Must be why you’re missing your uniform."

Lynn blushed at them and said, "I do have one, but someone stole it in the bathroom." She looked away and scratched the back of her head and told them, "But luckily I had my civilian clothing stowed away near by!"

"That’s a good idea." The second soldier said.

"I doubt you could get around floor E without hassle at this point in time, especially in your clothes, but they do have a room to sit and watch from above on floor D in room 415." The first soldier chimed in again. He pointed out across the hall and said, "The elevators are over there if you’d like to look around the base in legal boundaries."

Lynn jumped in front of them and cried, "That’s great! Thanks for all your help!"

The young lady began running for the elevator, but the third soldier grabbed her collar and tugged her back and said, "Whoa girl, wait a minute." He pointed towards the two guards under the statue she had knocked over and said, "Don’t attract the wrong attention like you did over there. We don’t know what happened, and we didn’t like those two guards anyway. Despite how Traquo looks these days and our objectives you’ll run into guards who won’t mind you like us as well as guards that won’t hesitate to gun you down like those men. But not all of the Traquo forces are in agreement with the government and military here and think the demons should be left alone." Lynn turned around and nodded to them as the third said, "Live and let live, if you know what I mean. Just take care and don’t let a cutie like yourself get in serious trouble with the law."

"Yeah! The government is a bunch of punks since Howe lost his job!" The second soldier said.

The first soldier quickly covered the second soldier’s mouth and whispered, "Don’t say that stuff out loud!"

Lynn nodded at them quickly and said, "Gotcha! Thanks again!"

Joel looked up slightly with squinting eyes towards his friend. Ryan still hadn’t moved at all or changed appearance since Joel had originally woken up. He was beginning to wonder if Ryan had passed away for real. Joel closed his eyes and listened closely through the noise around the room and could still hear the silent hum that buzzed through the air.

"What’s going on with your body, Ryan?" Joel thought.

Nothing was returned to his thoughts like they normally would. His mind was filled with complete silence and his ears still rang with the surrounding noise that came from the chatty humans around him. The doctors began to line up again in front of Joel and the head doctor revealed a medical needle to the Guardian. The doctor looked straight into Joel’s eyes with a smile and began silently mouthing words at him such as "Ready?" and "This’ll be fun."

The doctor was handed a microphone and said, "For those of you who don’t know me, I am Doctor Gimezy, head of the Traquo Military Doctor Organization." He pointed the microphone over to the other doctors and said, "And this is…"

As Doctor Gimezy named off each of the doctors and their jobs Joel thought, "Go on, keep stalling time."

"The first line of business tonight is to draw a blood sample from this demon so we can inspect it." Gimezy told the viewers.

"Oh crap, not again." Joel thought, thinking back to his second day.

Gimezy approached Joel with the needle and inserted it into Joel’s chest, unexpectedly and unlike on his arm as he had the first time around. His face began to turn pale as he felt his life being siphoned from his body slowly. Being treated like an animal was not something he found very enjoyable. As the needle’s bottle filled up, Gimezy began to flap his hand holding the needle off and on. Suddenly he pulled the needle out and threw it back onto the ground and let out a cry and cursed loudly as he held onto his hands as they burned. The needle’s bottle cracked and shattered as it hit the ground and spilled its bloody contents over the floor.

"What’s wrong? Is my body temperature too high for you?" Joel asked.

The doctor began to blow at his hands to cool them off, then scowled at Joel as he told his audience, "And once again, ladies and gentleman, one of the many difference between humans and demons.

Joel shook his head and said, "You idiot. I’m the Guardian of Fire. Of course I’m going to be hot inside."

Several men entered the room with cleaning utilities and cleaned up the mess on the ground, making sure nothing was left behind in case someone tried to steal a dirty sample. Once they wiped and polished the ground they handed the doctor a pair of heat resistant mitts and a new needle.

"Now then, shall we try this again the right away?" Gimezy asked his audience.

Lynn continually hit the down button on the elevators as she continued her way down the base with great impatience. The doors made a sound off and glided open for her, and Lynn hopped inside and hit the E level button. The doors shut with a tight whisk of air and began rushing down towards level E. This elevator was more advanced and different than other elevators in the sense that it was silent with air pressure power, which allowed the carriage to glide up and down the elevator passage without squeaky sounds. When the elevator was to stop it was programmed to latch onto the level entrance and open the doors for the people riding inside.

She kept her back to the inner walls of the elevator carriage as it stopped and opened up. Lynn beamed several glances outside to see what the hallway was like. There were many soldiers pacing around the level both traveling from one step of their job to another as well as keeping a close eye out for any illegal intruders. All of them looked like they meant serious business unlike the men on the top level who gave her instructions. The doors began to close on her again, and she let them shut completely. Lynn took a deep breath and pressed the open button on the command grid, and with little to no confidence in what she was doing, the young lady walked out of the elevator into the open when the doors had stopped.

"Hey, you! Stop right there!" was the first thing Lynn heard echo through her head.

Lynn instantly turned blue and pushed herself back into the elevator and closed the doors before she was reached by the incoming guards. She slammed the level A button and slid down onto the ground into a sit along the wall as she gasped heavily for air.

"Dang!" Lynn said, snapping her fingers, "So that’s where all the bad guys were!" she stood up and grabbed hold of her head and said, "That’s going to give me premature grays!" She shook her head violently in denial, then thought, "That front attack method didn’t do me very good! But what about an attack from behind?" She crossed her arms and thought deeper, "Didn’t they say the observation room from above was on level D? I bet people won’t be so aggressive there!"

Lynn got herself together and then pressed the D button. The elevator doors sealed themselves once again, and the elevator began to glide down to level D. She once again concealed herself behind the walls of the elevator as it stopped and opened up and edged outside for a quick glance. The halls seemed quieter than the level below and far less populated. In fact she could not see any soldiers or guards standing around near by. The young woman began to casually walk through the halls in search for a populated area, but she still could not find anyone in the halls. She peered inside rooms and found that most rooms were empty except for some with workers that paid no attention to the television sets.

"Everyone must have gone home after that announcement!" Lynn thought. She looked up at the room numbers and thought, "They said the observation room was at 415, right above the operation room!"

She ran down the hall not too far and found the room she was looking for. Lynn inspected the door first and then looked in through the windows to see what was happening inside. It was a very large circular room with an open center where the operation room was with a glass down over it to keep people from falling in or improperly intruding. The seats each had a small computer integrated into them for observation research purposes for those who wanted a closer look at what was going on and to take notes if they wished. The whole room was packed full of students and scientists who wanted to both take part in the demon study as well as watch the two Guardians suffer for what they thought was a just cause.

"Man, there’s a lot of people in there!" Lynn thought, "Way too many to throw out thoughtless moves. The guards would gun me down in an instant from every angle!"

"Here we go. Now I’d like you all to turn on your screens and take a good look at this sample of blood from the demon." Gimezy told his audience, "Now compare it with normal human blood."

Joel’s face had become pale from the sudden loss of blood from his body. He could only look up slightly now and watch as red screens appeared in front of each person above him as they compared his blood to other blood types. The slides on the right side of each computer showed small red disks that represented the blood of a healthy human. The slide on the left side of each computer contained small and slightly crescent-shaped orange cell objects that were slightly larger on one end. Those different cells resembled something like a bent tear drop and came from Joel’s body, labeled "Demon A".

"Notice the difference in size and shape? We have determined that no demon of these kinds have the same blood type." Gimezy explained and he showed them a blood sample from Ryan’s body, "Which tells us that if any of these demons were to have a mass blood loss and needed medical help with blood infusion that no other blood type in the world would save them."

The blood sample slides from Ryan’s body were light grey sphere shaped cells. The ridged texture on each cell made them look like brains all to themselves.

Lynn slammed her fist into the wall as she watched from outside and thought, "Damn it! I can’t stand here watching my friends get played with like this! I’d rather die with them than to live without them as my friends." She pulled her rings out and opened the door determined to fight and cried, "Stop right there! That’s enough!" The whole room slowly stopped typing at their computers, and gradually they all turned to look up at Lynn standing at the doors and she yelled, "That’s right, I’m talking to you!"

The people in the operation room did not stop to Lynn’s words. She realized that the glass dome was sound proof and the people on the floor below could not hear her entry. She slumped her shoulders and sighed stubbornly.

"Who are you, little girl?" one person asked from the audience.

"Someone here for those two down there!" Lynn announced. She stood up straight and then gave her best effort to leap across the room and onto the dome with a great cry of, "Go comic book hero style!"

The whole room stood up from their seats and gasped in amazement as Lynn made her jump across the room singing a solid note in her charge. However, Lynn’s glorious attempt at making a big entrance was cut short as her body slammed into the hard surface of the glass dome and began to slide off slightly. The impact caused a slight bumping sound from the top of the operation room and the guards and doctors were quickly alerted at what seemed to sound like an ordinary bird aimlessly flying into a thick window. It was then that the entire room burst out into laughter at the girl’s performance and sat down again in their seats. The guards and doctors, however, did not take this approach at Lynn’s scene.

"Who’s that girl up there?" a doctor asked.

"How the hell did she get in here?" one of the soldiers demanded to the others.

"I don’t know, but it looks like she wants down here!" another soldier exclaimed.

Joel lifted his head slowly to the sight of Lynn and mumbled, "Lynn… what are you… doing here…?"

Lynn s gritted her teeth and stood up again on the glass surface. She slid about and danced a bit due to the dome’s smooth surface, but Lynn eventually returned to her proper footing again. She looked around quickly at the audience in search of advancing guards. She could see several rushing her way from the top.

"It’s harder than it looks like in the movies!" Lynn exclaimed. She flipped around her hoped and activated the blades around them again and said, "But there’s always a way to succeed!" Her hoops started to radiate as she spun them about in the air until she charged them to the ground with a roar of, "Here I come!"

The moment her bladed hoops hit the glass dome the whole surface shattered. Lynn fell through the falling shards of glass and landed in the middle of the operation room with the glass around her. She received minor cuts and scraps all around her body as she passed through the broken glass, but Lynn was not very concerned about her body at that point in time. The doctors began to rush away in panic with the glass coming down, and the people watching from above once again jumped out of their seats and ran to the railings at the middle to see what was to happen next. The guards around the room quickly shielded themselves from the falling shards of glass before they brought out their guns and aimed them at Lynn. But the girl was not ready to give up yet and moved herself to Joel’s side and proceeded to brush the glass off his body.

"You shouldn’t be here, Lynn." Joel mumbled.

"Blah, blah, girl weak this, girl shouldn’t do that." Lynn ranted, "So shoot me."

The leader of the guards in the room quickly chimed in to the situation and barked out, "Stay where you are little girl! We’re placing you under arrest for trespass and assault! Drop your weapons down now and back away from the demon!"

Lynn looked slowly up to the guards and taunted, "Yeah? And who are you kidding?"

"Don’t play dumb with us! You’ll only make your life sentence…" the commander started to bark at Lynn, but he trailed off at the sound of a loud clicking sound.

The people in the operation room looked in the direction of the noise. A loud electronic beep was heard around Ryan’s restraints as they began open. Ryan’s body then began to slide off the raised table and fell onto the ground. The guards started to panic in fear of Ryan, not knowing what would happen next now that he was free again. They all could hear Ryan’s heart begin to beat again, pumping blood through his body and out his still open wounds. His body rattled a bit, jolting up off the ground for a moment continuously.

The commander looked around at his men quickly in surprise and shouted, "What are you waiting for, men? Get some restraints on that monster!"

Lynn looked down at Ryan and rushed over to his side as several men ran to get restraints to throw on him to hold him down. Joel slowly followed Lynn’s figure towards Ryan and listened to his comrade as Ryan began to let out brief laughter with a big grin on his face. Lynn dropped down and stroked his body with her hand as she watched his body begin to patch up and then slowly backed away as Ryan’s body began to lift up into the air and place him on his feet. His wounds glowed a bright white light as they closed and stopped bleeding, and Ryan looked around deep into each man’s soul.

"Never. Touch. The headgear." Ryan warned them all with an evil grin over his face once he noticed that his headband was missing as well as his clothes.
