A Glimpse of Our Life ...

Hello, wake up! wake up! Sleepy heads!

Cosmo wakes up the moment I do. He's always worried Daddy will leave him.

Martina takes forever to wake up. She prefers to have her breakfast brought to her in bed.

Breakfast. Raw eggs.
Dogs are masters;
Arnold is servant.

And servant washes dog bowls, while masters watch that he does a good job!

Let's put on your leash and go to the dog run.

Ok, this is not quite Hollywood but we get stares from the public. Some will say, "Go feed your thin dogs!" Haha!

Cosmo thinks that
sign of a dog at the dogrun isn't right: he wants longer legs on
that graphic.
(and he's right!)

This is the face that says, "Let me get into the run and sprint like a gazelle now!"

"Fetch!"

"Good girl!"

They tell me when I can rest.

"Dad, we want a drink now."

Martina thinks she's in the show ring. Once a beauty queen, always a beauty queen.

Martina says to Cosmo, "Excuse me, ladies first, if you don't mind!"

Now, this is when I know they're ready to go home. It's hard being a single parent.

Back home, a quick check for any small cuts on the body or paws; or grass seeds in the ears.

Then their daily brush down and polish to bring out the sheen.

Nails are clipped every week.

Exhausted. And happily so.

"Thanks, Dad."
(you know we love you!)

The day has ended and they go to bed again.
They have their own bed, but prefer mine.
I say, "Goodnight, Cosmo. Goodnight, Martina."

" Goodnight, Dad.", they whisper in my ear.
(Yes, I kid myself all the time.)
