Growing up in rural east Texas as one of seven children, Nina Chambers always knew that animals and drawing would be important parts of her life. After working on her own to develop her natural artistic ability, she began her formal training in oil painting at the American Fine Art School in Dallas. Later, she learned sculpting from Grant Speed at the Cowboy Artists Museum in Kerrville, Texas. She continued to take additional classes in sculpture at the Cowboy Artists Museum and studied under Bill Moyer, Mehl Lawson, Bill Owen, Herb Mignery and Bill Nerberker.
Nina has been a featured artist at numerous galleries and has won many awards. Nina won the Mayor's Award for Best in Show at the Texas Wild Bunch Show in Waco, and a Top Ten Artist award at the Ruidoso Art Festival in Ruidoso, New Mexico. In the Midwest Salute to the Masters in St. Louis, Missouri, Nina's work claimed 1st Place.
Magazines that have published articles on Nina Chambers' work include Southwest Art, Duck Soup Magazine, and North Lake College. Her work was chosen to represent the prestigious American Business Award granted to a United Arab Emirates leader who has contributed substantially to commerce and investment between the USA and the UAE. The award is presented by the American Business Council of Dubai and Northern Emirates.
Listed in Notable Women of Texas and Who's Who in Texas, Nina balances her artistic life raising and training her horses in Azle, Texas. She also is a Touch Balancing practitioner, and promotes CellTech wholistic remedies for animals and humans. |
