BDSM they can be broke down three different ways
1 BD- Bondage /Discipline Bondage meaning both physical and psychological. Discipline used when rules are broken.
2 D/s-Domination/submission This is more emotional. The submissive giving up some of there own power for the dominant to use for mutual benefit.
3.S/M-Sadomasochism Ones who receive pleasure for receiving (sadist) or receiving pain (masochist)
Dominant- One who uses the power a submissive to guide protect and a way that is mutually beneficial.
Submissive- One who offers up some or all of there own power to one they trust will protect guide and use the power in a way pleasing to both.
Negotiation-Very important whether just a short scene or a life long relationship. This lays out the rules. What the dominant wants what the submissive is willing to give up.
Safe words and signals- A word or signal used to let the other person or persons know limits have been reached. After being in a relationship for some time with a submissive the dominant will know the limits of there submissive. But still a good practice to maintain for all no matter how well we know our submissive.
SSC-Safe Sane and Consensual this very important and never to be forgotten. All of BDSM is based on this.
Safe-No harm coming to any person. Also it is the dominants job to keep the submissive safe.
Sane- No unnecessary risks are taken. Maintaining sensible guidelines. Drugs and alcohol should be avoided during a scene for they can cloud judgment
Consensual- Mean all persons involved have agreed.
Play/scene- a short term activity between two or persons. A scene has negations so limits are set. Safe words or signals are used. Often done at public I.e. at a BDSM club. The scene is always consensual
Top- Some refer to the dominant as the top
Bottom- Some refer to the submissive as the bottom.
Switch-Ones who enjoy both dominant and submissive rolls.
Fire play- An activity that involves the use of fire. Very dangerous and should only be done by those who that have acquired the proper knowledge. Good chance of seriously injuring partner if not sure how to do properly.
Hot wax- Another very dangerous activity that should only be done by those with the proper knowledge. This uses melted wax on different parts of the body. Good chance of burring your partner if not sure how to do it properly
