I was born in Central Illinois in a small farming community called Blackstone. After graduating Flanagan High School in 2002, I embarked on to college at Carthage. Unfortantly, I was not able to make the baseball team, but looking back now I have realize that I would not have been able to go with Habitat for Humanity to build houses for homeless people during Spring Break; start, organize, and run a local Youth Group at First United Methodist Church; or keep my grades up. Besides these events and abilities, I would never have been able to design for fun, which eventually lead to my own graphic novel.

Designing has be part of my entire life. I learned how to draw and paint when I was a toddler and with the help of my mother and a couple art teachers I was able to win first place at my high school's Midstate Conference Art Festival. Realizing that I had a strong knack for designing, I began a major in Graphic Design and added two minors in Business Administration and Communications. The passion for design did not stop in the classroom. The desire I had for design helped me get an Internship with Carthage where I mainly focused on recruiting brochures, posters, and fliers for incoming students. Eventually I was able to use my skills to help design posters for my friends, family, and organizations on campus.

Growing up on a farm and working in the city, I have learned that life is full of responsibilities and duties, but it is also important to have fun while working. This website shows the important link between work and play. Throughout the pages I have incorporated my working ability with the importance of having fun while designing. I have included my Cover Letter, Resumé, and Portfolio as added references to my design skills and my personal abilities.
