Currently I am a senior at Carthage College where I am working on my Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design. I also have two minors in Business Administration and Communications, in which I have accumulated a 3.7/4 GPA.  I am interested in obtaining a position in the field of Graphic Design with your company.

When I graduate from Carthage College in May 2006, I am looking for a position that will broaden my knowledge in the field of Graphic Design.  I am interested in logo/letterhead design, page layouts, film making, and illustration.  In various classes at Carthage, I have created logos ranging form abstract to professional, a twelve-page magazine, a music video, a twenty-minute film, and posters that relate to a fictional advertisement for an art exhibit.  In addition to producing the work, I had to present the work to the class in a professional manner in hopes of selling my work.  Outside of design work for classroom assignments, I managed the pre-press area at Kenosha News, and obtained an internship in May of 2005 with Carthage College’s communications department.  After almost a year with Carthage, I have designed and created posters, brochures, invites, pamphlets, and fliers for recruiting and entertainment purposes.  Within the internship, I have learned to conduct meetings with clients, present new ideas with staff members, contact printing companies for estimates, participate in press checks on-site, and operate color printers on a daily basis.

At Carthage, I became a stronger leader and developed my team building skills as the V.P. of Habitat for Humanity through organizing and preparing for Act! Build! Speak! Week.  In addition to leadership in Habitat for Humanity, I am a dedicated Youth Group leader at First United Methodist Church.  During my college career I have worked part-time in various leadership and customer service positions.  My experiences and academic studies have helped me become a reliable and creative individual, which would make me a great asset to your company.
