Sharon Coleman is Founder and Managing Member of C Group, LLC. She brings clients more than 20 years of major market print and online publishing experience.
Ms. Coleman was an editor at The Philadelphia Inquirer and Newsday, among other newspapers, and has worked as a staff writer, reporter, assignment editor, copy editor, news editor and newsroom department head.
She was among the first wave of major print media to migrate to the Web and is a former member of the start-up managerial team for what used to be the free, business news and information portal of Dow Jones & Company dowjones.com where she helped determine how the Web site should be built out, what content should be featured or acquired, and what business partnerships were needed to further the Web site's strategic goals.
Prior to Dow Jones, Ms. Coleman was a member of the start-up editorial staff of Philly.com, formerly Philadelphia Online, where she led a number of initiatives, including the Web site's first independently produced enterprise piece and its first use of multimedia. She also created and produced the Web site's Escape travel site, its Chapter One books site, its Philadelphia Flower Show site and its Celebration of Black History site, among others. Editor & Publisher magazine listed Philadelphia Online among the "10 Most Heavily Visited Newspaper Web Sites" while Ms. Coleman was author and steward of the home page, news and special interest sections.
She is a graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.
