These are the things I am going to experiment on not necessarily in this order. 1 I am going to oil inject this engine. Because its a 2 stroke and uses more fuel than a miserly 1/2 VW you can not realistically use it with the small (5-6 gal) header tank. So having wing tanks with the abillity to just run straight gas in them is very much desirable. I already have the (oil) header tank installed in anticipation of that project. I am looking at using a pulse pump (via Evenrude) to deliver the oil. But have no idea what the end result will be. So stay tuned. |

Oil tank installed already. Vent line running to it is for the fuel gauge to vent to. It will be gravity fed to the fuel line before the diaphram pumps. |

The next pressing thing to chase down is the Macs inability to idle really slowly with out a buch of shaking. Its workable the way it is but I think I can make it better. The plan is to add a flywheel to the front of the prop hub. I am going to start with a 11"x 3/8 thick. I will cut the center out till it starts to deteriorate. And the final thing when all is working right is to substitute the S&S Super E after market Harley carb with a stock Harley carb that has a diaphram on top that compensates for altitude change. Dont even ask why I didnt start there. That storys 3 maniflods and 4 carbs ago! If I dint have my T-18 to fly when it gets crazy I couldnt do it, but since I do its all fun!! |

The first pump is what I will try for the oil pump. The second is similar to the fuel pump that there are 2 of already. I plan on running the oil in before the fuel gets to the fuel pumps hoping it will get mixed better before it gets to the carb. |
