After one last nice week together of enjoying gorgeous fall weather and sights up in Traverse City, we drove back to Howe, Indiana. Cynthia then spent two more weeks while Krist returned to work in D.C. This was a beautiful time of the year at her parents' small lake cottage. Many Canada geese were stopping by and there were eerie foggy mornings.

Mom made an apple pie to celebrate Krist's birthday, and we saw Cynthia's brother Dave and sister-in-law Cheri.

And Cynthia attended a college reunion at MSU, where she saw one of her favorite former professors for the first time in 20+ years, and also met up with her old friend Virginia Bower, who is now a Chinese art expert.

Later in the month, we drove back from Indiana to Washington by way of Pennsylvania, and saw gorgeous fall foliage. And we procured a MEDIUM pumpkin from a LARGE selection in a HUGE field in Maryland's Eastern Shore.

And at the very end of the month Cynthia went to Miami for the Aesthetics Society conference. A highlight was the tour of South Beach art deco architecture.

And yes the scene below from National Airport seemed fitting, due to all Cynthia's travel recently.
