| Chapter 4 |
| After the crew of Tai-Ho's ship 'graciously' dropped the three off... "Ow, my butt!" Leli complained, rubbing her arse. "Yeah, they didn't have to throw us off!!" Seyona shook her fist at the rapidly disappearing ship. The poor crew of three limped into the Forest village. Leli frowned. "I'm hungry." "Yeah." Seyona agreed looking down at her stomach ,then at Ridleheim. "Hey fianc could you steal some food for us like the good ol' days?" "What!?" Ridleheim took a step backwards shocked from the request. "Oh, come on." Seyona took two steps forward and rubbed his chin. "Your so heroic when you do." "I am?" Leli nods furiously. "YES! NOW GET US SOME FOOD!!" She pushes him towards the tavern. "Okay..." Ridleheim made his way up the steps and into the building. He walked right up to one of the customers and snatched the plate off his table and ran to the other table and did the same. Seyona's jaw dropped when she saw Ridleheim run back with a tower of food in his hands and a mob of angry people chasing him. "RUNNN!!!" Leli and Seyona didn't need to be asked twice and headed for the hills. "What the frill do you think your doing?!?!" Seyona screamed between gasps. "Stealing... food..." Ridleheim answered. Leli collapsed to the ground and rolled over on her back when they finally lost the crowd. "I would injure you if I wasn't so tired." "But..." "Here have a bagel" Seyona stuffed it in Ridleheim's mouth. "Seyona?" Leli asked her voice wavering slightly. "What?" "What are those things?" Leli pointed red eyes that stared out through the bushes that surrounded the trio. Seyona gasped and huddled close Ridleheim's arm, Leli did the same to the other side. After what seemed like forever the 'eyes' came out and were tamed by the moonlight. "Awwwwww!" Leli cooed eyeing over the cute little rabbits that emerged. "They're so cute." Seyona let out a laugh. "That's what we were so scared of?" Leli crawled over to one and reached out to pet it. Suddenly without warning its small little body poofed out and its mouth opened impossibly wide lined with sharp pointy teeth. Leli's pupils shrank and before she knew it she was running again with Seyona and Ridleheim. "They're still following us!" Leli screamed. "Ridleheim drop the food!" Seyona ordered seeing the huge mountain Ridleheim was struggling to hold. "NO!" Ridleheim refused stubbornly speaking through a half eaten bagel. "Do it! They're following us because of the food!" Seyona screeched her patience wearing thin. When Ridleheim didn't, Leli threw a stick at him and he lost his load. Ridleheim screeched to a stop and desperately tried to gather the food he lost. The girls grabbed him by both arms and dragged him, screaming and kicking, away when the 'killer bunnies' jumped onto the food. Sulking, Ridleheim stood outside the store while Seyona and Leli went in to 'buy' some bare necessities. Flik who was in the same town came around the corner and his eyes brightened somewhat seeing Luc. "LUC!" Flik screamed waving his hands about in the air trying to get Ridleheim's attention. Ridleheim tried his best to ignore this raving man. "Hey Luc where have you been?!" Flik asked coming up to Ridleheim. "We have been looking all over for you. Are you all right?" Ridleheim looked at Flik and bowed politely. "I think you may have confused me with another." Flik's expression grew blank then he laughed. "No, your Luc I'm quite sure about that one." Ridleheim's face grew serious. "No, I am not." And he turned away. Flik grew somewhat annoyed and he grabbed Ridleheim's arm. "Did they do something to you? Hurt you in any way?" Ridleheim opened his mouth to utter something when he was hit in the back with a small object. Looking behind him he saw his fianc and Leli doing frantic motions for him to come over to them. Taking a deep breath Ridleheim ripped his arm out of Flik's grasp. "I have to be going now, good day to you sir." Flik frowned. "Now wait a minute here Luc..." Flik's jaw dropped when he saw Seyona and Leli in the window. "Ahhhhhhh Ridleheim ruuuunnnn!!!" Leli screamed running out the back way of the store. "Lu-!" Flik was cut short when Leli threw a blanket in his face. "Come on Ridleheim!" Seyona grabbed Ridleheim and ran through the side road to catch up to Leli. "Who was that guy?" Ridleheim asked while running. "Oh, just an old ...friend" Seyona replied hesitating. "Friend?! What sort of-" Ridleheim demanded, but was cut off when he ran into somebody. "Ridleheim are you okay?" Leli asked falling to her knees. "Ow, yeah I just ran into..." A boy in red and white clothing turned around and his brown eyes grew wide. "Luc?" Ridleheim frowned. "Who is this 'Luc'?" Seyona and Leli exchanged worried stares. "You are aren't you?" The boy asked. Seyona shook her head and stepped forward. "No no no no no no and no. He's my fianc Ridleheim Stienbach III. He must just look like this 'Luc' fellow. Um, my name is Seyona and she is Leli." "Oh.." The boy scratched his head. "Yeah your fianc does look like my friend 'Luc'. Are you sure you're not related to him at least?" Ridleheim shrugged and sighed. "I do not know." "Well, my name is Terran, nice to, uh, run into you people." Terran welcomed smiling at his little joke. Leli stood there for a second then burst out laughing. "Oh I get it now. Run into like run into..." She stopped laughing when Seyona gave her a look. "Ah-hem never mind." "So where were you three getting to in such a rush?" Terran asked as Ridleheim got off the ground. "I don't know, this guy is running after my fianc and Leli" Ridleheim said brushing the dirt off his clothing. "Guy?" "Yeah this really scary man. I'm so scared." Leli cried and clung to Terran's arm faking a tear or two. "Oh I ... well you can stay with me for awhile... if you want." Terran tried his best to comfort Leli. "Really?!" Leli squealed jumping up and down. "Oh thank you!" "Yeah just let me go find Flik and we'll be on our way." Terran announced heading back the way Seyona and Ridleheim had just come. "Flik!?!" Both Leli and Seyona screeched at the same time. "Huh is there something wrong with that?" Terran asked his brow furrowed in confusion. "Um... no... it's just.... that...." Seyona stuttered then she saw Flik. He looked terrible. His hair was matted to his head and he swayed unbalanced on his feet. His eyes locked onto hers for a moment before he fell to the ground unconscious. The whole group just blinked, then Terran ran to Flik's side and felt his pulse. "What happened to him?" Leli asked her voice full of curiosity. "He-he seems to have fainted." Terran scratched his head then shrugged. "Well I guess we better rent a room until Flik-" "NO!" Seyona burst out then quickly recovered her calm manner. "No Ridleheim can carry him. I think Flik would feel better to wake up in his own room don't you think?" "I don't know..." "Come on, it's the least we could do; besides the inns are so expensive here" Seyona persuaded. "Well okay, but I'll help Ridleheim carry Flik." Terran slid his hands under Flik's arms and lifted his front half off the ground and Ridleheim took hold of Flik's feet. The group headed off towards Terran's Castle, Seyona and Leli talking silently at the back. "Whew, that was close." Leli whispered. "Yeah, we got lucky this time, but we have to keep him asleep" Seyona warned. "Or we're dead meat." "I don't want to be dead meat." Leli whimpered her shoulders going down. Terran and Ridleheim stopped suddenly in front of the two girls. Seyona struggled to see what stopped them then her jaw dropped as she eyed the young looking man his light brown hair tied neatly behind his head.. "He's a highlander!" Terran looked grimly towards Joey. "What do you want?" Joey said nothing, just stood there, clasping his wooden staff tighter. Terran sighed, "We don't want a fight, let us go by peacefully." Joey looked away, a look of great sadness overwhelming for a moment, then he reached into his shirt; everybody gasped, Leli ran forward and slid onto her knees "NOOOOO! Please have mercy, I'm too young to die!" Joey stared at her and produced a letter. Leli opened one eye, "Whew," she wiped her brow, "never mind..." She laughed and dodged behind the embarrassed Seyona. "It is an invitation." Joey said handing Terran the letter. Leli heard a moan behind her. She blinked, "Uh, Seyona." "Don't you talk to me. I can't believe you did that!" She hissed, eyes glaring forward. "B-but, Flik is waking u-" Seyona grabbed Leli suddenly by the collar. "What!" All eyes turned to the reddening Seyona, even the talk between Joey and Terran stopped. Leli smiled and waved her fingers nervously. "Heh, um, hi." Seyona dropped her and took a step away. "Continue, please." Seyona felt a huge weight come off her shoulders, then , with more careful tactics, she demanded more in formation. Leli swallowed. "Like I said. Flik is waking." The girls looked towards Flik, who was awkwardly and painfully getting to his feet, a few meters away. Seyona looked to the ground, then took a deep breath, raising her voice. "YOU COWARDLY SNAKE OF A BEST FEIND! HOW DARE YOU EMBARRASS ME!" Leli cringed away from her angry companion. "I'm...sorry?" Seyona advanced toward her friend, giving her a death glare. "SORRY DOESN'T CUT IT! I'VE HAD IT UP TO HERE WITH YOU!" She held a hand up above her head to emphasize her point. She took Leli in a headlock and chuckled evilly, as Leli gasped for air, then whispered loosening her grip. "Just play along." Leli struggled to remove her friends arm from her throat. "Yeah?! Well I don't see how Ridleheim chose YOU!" She got away from Seyona and flicked her hair back, smiling at Ridleheim. "I'm a MUCH better choice..." Seyona's face went a dark shade of red and she growled. "Oh yeah??" "Yeah" Leli narrowed her eyes, lets end this." She got into a fighting position. "Yaaaaaaah!" Seyona charged forward, pushing Leli backwards. The two of them tripped over Flik and Seyona pinned Leli to the ground. "That didn't do it!" She whispered. "What do we do?" "Roll over to him...that should knock him out for sure!" Leli whispered back, then yelled. "You don't shave your legs!" She rolled over. "Oh yeah?" Seyona countered. "Well you wet the bed until two years ago!" They rolled closer. "Oh YEAH??" Leli screamed. "At least I don't eat yellow snow!" Seyona stopped and mouthed 'yellow snow'? Leli shrugged, and they continued their fighting, getting closer to Flik who was trying desperately to escape the mad clutches of the two girls. Leli overran Flik, grabbed his foot and dragged him into the fray. Terran, Joey and Ridleheim decided to break the fight. Once the dust cleared, they discovered the newly knocked out Flik lying face down in the dust, Leli chocking him eyes closed. "DIE SEYONA! DIE!" Seyona heaved a great sigh. "Leli, I'm over here." Leli looked over at Seyona. "Oh and so you are. " She looked down at Flik and gave an overacted gasp. "Oh my, did I do that?" Ridleheim looked once at Seyona confused, then went to help Flik while Joey and Terran ended their conversation. Leli went over to Seyona, trying her best not to laugh. "We actually pulled it off!" She giggled in a low tone. "It's a miracle I'll give it that." Seyona grabbed her in a hug. "But we can't keep doing this. We might, well, give him brain damage or something." Leli bit her lip, and looked up from their victory hug into Terran's innocent brown eyes. "Uh, aren't you two angry at each other?" Leli blinked then slapped Seyona. "OW! YOU-" Terran left them and helped Ridleheim the III with Flik. |
