Chapter 5
A cloaked figure snuck out of the bar and slipped through the shadows and into the courtyard, where another cloaked figure stood waiting.
The cloaked figure reached the tree and lowered her hood.  "Leli, your late."
Leli smiled. "Sorry, Seyona, I couldn't get rid my fan club."
Seyona raised her eyebrow, "You have a fan club"
Leli looked behind her.  Sheena was sneaking through the trees towards them.
"Oh," she leaned closer, "Does he have anything good on him?"
Leli winked. "Of course! He's the son of the leader of the Toran Republic!"
"Perfect, stand there." Seyona pointed to the spot under a tree.
"Check."
Sheena stopped his slinking through the bushes when he saw Leli. He ran his hands through his blonde hair and checked his breath. He puffed his chest up and strolled over to her and tactfully placed his arm around her shoulders. "You were waiting for me, I see."
Leli rolled her eyes, then turned to him, batting her eyelashes. "Yes." She sidled up closer to him.  "Why else would I be standing around in this dark, scary courtyard?"
Sheena's chest poofed out even more and he slammed his fist against his chest in an attempt to act more manly.  After he finished wincing, he exclaimed heroically.  "Don't worry, you're safe with me!"
"Of course..." Leli purred, tickling him under the chin.  "I'm sure a big, strong, manly (She gave a little more emphasis on the last one) man like you has many hidden talents..." Her hands slipped into his jacket.
"Well...I...er..."
"Aw, come on, we both know why we are out here." She snuggled closer, her hands artfully shifted around his person. Leli looked at Seyona, who was up in the tree and gave the signal.
Seyona sat back and watched the show, chuckling evilly to herself.
Leli growled inwardly, cursing the evilness of her 'best friend'.  Her eyes went wide when Sheena started to do the same wondering around.
Leli's expression changed to shock then utter anger, "YOU PERVERT!" up went the knee followed by a punch to the jaw.
Seyona was laughing it up, jumped down and patted Leli on the back. "I knew you had it in you."
Leli slowly turned her head and gave Seyona a look that made her back away.
"Sorry Leli, I-" Seyona saw with distress Leli's eyes start to water.  Seyona's head went down. "Shall we search him?"
"Why?" Leli whispered her voice coarse.
Seyona shrugged. "I wanted to see if you could handle yourself. You always seem to lack aggression." She laughed. "I'm sure he never saw it coming!"
Leli looked down at Sheena, who was out cold. A smile crept over her face. "Eyah! I did do that! Ho-Yeah! WORLD WATCH OUT!"
Seyona laughed. "Yeah," she knelt down and began searching the guy.
"It's no use, you know." Leli commented, leaning over her friend.  "He doesn't have anything on him-I checked."
Seyona unexpectedly produced a small leather pouch.  She held it up to Leli, who took it.   "Where on earth did you find that?" Leli asked, turning the pouch in her hands,  it was heavy and bulgy...there was no way she could have missed that.
"You don't want to know..." Seyona replied, making a disgusted face.  Leli decided not to persue the topic any farther.  Seyona got up and stood with Leli.  "What is it?"
Leli opened the small package and produced a tiny infant dragon statue.
"Awww..." Seyona reached out to touch it.
Leli clutched it closer to herself.  "It's mine!  Back off!"
"Okay, okay, sheesh. Now let's get down to business." Seyona paced around the tree, Leli following close behind. "We have to leave here."
Leli's mouth dropped. "What? But I like it here; do you know how many rich people are here?"
Seyona shook her head firmly. "We can't keep running away from Flik, we brought him here, so he'll stay put. Do you want to get caught by him?"
The fellow thief scratched her head. "Well, no..."
"What are you two doing out here?" Terran suddenly appeared beside Seyona and Leli making both of them scream... and retaliate. Terran found himself with a sore nose and an injured knee.
Leli blinked. "Oh my gosh! Terran, I'm soooo sorry." She fell to her knees and started to dab his bleeding nose with a cloth.
"Wha-" Terran looked over at the out cold Sheena. "What is going on here? First Flik and now Sheena!" He waved his hand about in violent gestures.
"It's not my fault!" Leli whined, holding the cloth to Terran's nose to stop the bleeding. "He got all...grabby and stuff..."  She shut up immediately and avoided meeting Terran's curious gaze.
"Grabby?" Terran pushed the cloth away and got to his feet, limping a couple of steps before leaning on a tree.
Seyona began to see Leli start to break down and before she could stop her, Leli flung herself at Terran, bawling.
"Please, don't hate me!" Leli cried.
Terran blinked and tried to calm the frantic girl. "Easy, easy; what did you two do?" He looked at Seyona specifically.
Seyona sighed. "It's a long story."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
Seyona took one look at Leli's wet face and nodded her head. "If I don't, Leli won't be able to live with it."
Terran untied the cloth around his neck and wiped Leli's face with it.  He smiled at her reassuringly and she stopped crying, still sniffling.  Terran got comfortable on the grass beside the unconscious Sheena.  "I'm all ears."
"Well, what happened was..." Seyona began.
*sometime later*
The sun was just starting to come up as Seyona finished her tale.  She sat back and took a deep breath.  "And that, as they say, is that."
Leli looked hopefully towards Terran, who was deep in thought. "We're really sorry, we didn't think the sword meant so much to that guy and, " she looked at Seyona, "we didn't expect to run into Ridleheim, uh, I mean Luc, we couldn't just leave him in the state he was in." After a moment pause, "Do you forgive us?"
Terran looked up at Leli. "Of course," Leli gave Seyona a smile "After you get the sword back and tell Luc what you have done."
Leli watched Seyona's face pale. "Uh, yes, we were just thinking that. Leave that to us." Quickly, before she left, she placed a kiss on Terran's cheek. "Thanks."
Terran grabbed her hand, stopping her before she could leave.  Leli watched Seyona walk away, heading toward where "Luc" was.  She turned to Terran, confused.
"Here." Terran handed her the yellow cloth from around his neck.
"Wha--" Leli stared at it, not understanding.
Terran tied it around her neck.  "I want you to wear this--for luck." He grinned at her.
Leli blinked, taken aback.  "Uh...thanks...see you later?"
She took off after her friend, leaving Terran to smile to himself.
Leli did a twirl or two and almost rammed into Seyona. "Ah- Oh, hey Seyona, guess what Terran gave me."  Leli stopped when she saw her companion's expression. "Oh, you know we gotta do it."
"Yes, I know-can I do it?" Seyona asked looking towards the castle.
"Alone?" Leli strained unbelieving, her grey eyes wide.
Seyona nodded. "Yes-I'll meet you later," She pointed towards the inn. "In the inn. Okay?"
"Uh, right! Sure, no problemo!" Leli shook her blonde tresses. "I have other things to attend to, as well." She looked at the yellow cloth and giggled.
Seyona spotted Ridleheim in the entrance staring at a huge block of cement. She went and joined him.
She soon realized there was writing on it's rough grey surface.
"So, you figured out what this is, yet?" Seyona asked, startling Ridleheim from his trance like state.
"Uh, almost, I, " He pointed to the different names. "They seem to be the names of people who live in this castle, like," He scanned over the relic. "Flik. And whoever this 'Luc' guy is." He turned to Seyona and looked into her eyes. "Do you know him?"
"Yes, sort of-" Seyona turned away, her voice lowered and she began to walk away, her red-brown hair covering her face.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Ridleheim asked solemnly, watching her trudge away from him.
"Can-can we talk somewhere-private?"
Ridleheim saw the tears in her green eyes and quickly suggested a place. "The dungeons."
That got him a weird look. "What? It's not crowded and it's actually quite nice."
Seyona laughed wiping her eyes. "If you like dark damp places, then, yeah, I could see your point."
Ridleheim shrugged helplessly. "You said private--that's about as private as you get."
Seyona considered this for a moment.  "All right then-the dungeons it is...er...you know where they are...right?"
Ridleheim thought for a while.  "I must have been to this castle before...I think they are beside the docks."
"I know where the docks are!" Seyona exclaimed.  Ignoring the look from passing people, she continued,  "So I'll meet you there in...say...2 hours?"
Ridleheim nodded.  "See you there..." He turned back to puzzle over the stone tablet once more.
