Chapter 3
The sun baked the three stranded people's backs as they floated endlessly through the calm waters.
"Water..." Leli gasped for the hundredth time.  "So thirsty..." She stared at the seawater with lust.
"No, don't!" Seyona slapped her when Leli tried to drink some of it.  She pulled her hand back and cradled it.  "Ouch..."
"Will this nightmare never end?" the guy looked up to the sky.
"Hey, we heard that..." Leli complained, not having enough energy to actually retaliate.  She stopped.  "Hark!  A seagull!"
"Yeah!" Seyona agreed.  "Seagulls always gather near land!  Wait... aren't they kinda flying in a weird formation?"
Leli looked up "Yeah... almost as if they were planning to... nah, it'd never happen..."
< Ready to strike, red leader? > One seagull looked at another one.
< We're on fire, permission to drop the merchandise? > The seagull requested.
< Roger that... fire away! >
The guy looked up at the dive-bombing seagulls.  "What... seagulls...?"
"Aaah!" Leli yelled, pointing.  "Bomb attack!!"
They both grabbed the guy and threw him over them as a human shield.  Ten seagulls' "merchandise" pelted mercilessly onto his back.
"Phew, that was close..." Seyona observed, watching the seagulls depart.
"Yeah, good thing we had this guy here... our hero!" Leli agreed.
The guy twitched.
"Whoa!" Seyona waved the air away from her.  "I think he needs a bath now..."
"All righty!" Leli shoved him over into the water.  He came up sputtering and cursing.
"Hey, what's that?" Seyona pointed to a dot in the distance.
Leli turned to squint in the direction her friend was pointing.  "Hey, it's a ship, we're saved!!"
They cheered as the ship came closer and the guy mumbled "finally"
Their joy was short lived, a towering mass of fish net came plummeting towards them.
"Oh!!" Seyona tried to swim away, but it was too late.  They were tangled in the net arms and legs sticking out.  The net was pulled into the ship and they were unceremoniously dumped into its cargo hold with the other catches of the day.
"Ugh..." The guy wrinkled his nose, spitting out a fish.  "This is the most... disgusting experience I think I've ever had."
Beside him Leli coughed.  "I think I swallowed something... and I don't know what it was!!"
Seyona wiped fish slime off her clothing, shaking her head in dismay at her now completely ruined outfit.  "Anyway, who are you?"
"I'm... uh... um... that is..." The guy stared blankly ahead, blinking for a few minutes.
"Come on, spit it out!" Leli demanded, still trying to clean her mouth out.
His expression became that of shock.  "I... I can't remember..."
Seyona blinked, and dragged Leli aside, out of the guys hearing range.  "Hey, we could use this guy... we just have to come up with a good story.."
"Maybe you could pretend to be his girlfriend, or something..." Leli suggested, pulling stuff out of her hair.
She slapped her hand with her fist.  "Oh, he's my Fianc!!" She yelled.  The guy turned to look at her.
      "What?"
Seyona turned and batted her eyelashes at him.  "Yeah... your name is..." she tried to think of a name, but Leli came over and whispered something to her.  "... Ridleheim Stienbach III... yeah... and your my fianc..."
"I am??" The guy looked at Leli, who nodded her head.
The cargo hold door above them squeaked open and a face stared down at them.  "Hey, you guys... what are you doing in there?"
"We were scooped up with your fish!" Seyona yelled up at the new guy.
"Yeah, and I ate something gross!" Leli yelled, not wanting to be left out.
"I'm her fianc!" Ridleheim (formerly known as Luc) pointed out.

Seyona emerged, cleaned and refreshed, in a new outfit of cheap material.  "Much better..." She sighed in contentment.
"No kidding!" Leli said in agreement.
"I'm her fianc..." Ridleheim stared at his hands.
"We all go through it, mate." One of the sailors patted Ridleheim on the back.  "The old ball and chain..." He sauntered away, chuckling to himself, while Ridleheim stood there, face drained of colour.
Seyona grabbed his hand, and the three of them entered the cabin, just as someone from outside started to yell.
      "We're under attack!  Highland soldiers!!!"
Ridleheim's eyes went wide as the girls pushed him out.
"Be a man and protect us!" Leli yelled after him.
"Yeah, you know how to use this so... use it!" Seyona threw the staff at him, hitting him in the head with it.  Ridleheim rubbed his sore head and picked it up, staring at in bewilderment.  A highland soldier jumped at him, sword in hand.  Startled, Ridleheim pointed the staff at the enemy.
Inside the cabin the two girls heard a deafening boom.  They slowly opened the door to see everyone on the deck (including Ridleheim) was fried.  They fully opened the door and stepped out.
"Well that did the job!" Seyona congratulated, slapping him on the back.
Ridleheim coughed.  "Ugh... that hurt..." He fell forward in a heap.
"Uh... did I say something wrong?" Seyona asked Leli, who shrugged.
