"Butbutbut" Leli stuttered, finding herself being led into a tiny dungeon cell. The two guards left her standing in the center of it, locked the door and left her alone in the darkness.
"But" She spoke into the darkness, her voice giving out on her as tears threatened in her eyes. How could Seyona do this to her? Now she was in serious trouble. She didn't know what the penalty was for impersonating a Matilda knight, but she was betting it wasn't pleasant.
Leli sank to the floor, hugging her knees to her and biting back sobs. No, she wouldn't let herself fall apart, she'd be strong, and help Seyona when her best friend came for her.
"I won't let her down" she mumbled to herself, and she felt a little better.
"Leli?" A familiar voice penetrated the dark dungeon air.
Leli lifted her head and looked around. "Chaco?" She stood up. "Where are you?"
"Over here." Chaco's voice came back. "There's a little window on the wall here"
Grateful for something to do to keep her mind off of her troubles, Leli found the wall and groped along it until she came to a small little window joining Chaco's cell to hers "Chaco!" She felt relief at the sight of his grudgy little face.
"Are ya all right, Tart?" he asked, concerned.
Leli nodded. "Yeah, I'm okay."
"Why're ya in here, Tart?" he asked. "An' where's Seyona?"
"Long story." Leli sighed. "I don't think I'll ever have a bath again, it was so traumatizing." Chaco raised an eyebrow at this statement. "Seyona is helping that psycho Miklotov drag some drunk red knight somewhere."
"We have to think of a way out of here." Chaco pointed out.
"No." Leli told him, and Chaco looked at her strangely. "No." She repeated, shaking her head. "We'll probably just end up messing everything up again. No, we're going to sit here and wait for Seyona to come up with something. She can think better without me around, anyway." She turned from the window and leaned against the wall.
"Wha" Chaco blinked. "Now that aren't true. You don't mess everythin' up"
Leli smiled to herself. "Yeah, I do. I'm always disappointing Seyonabut not this time. I'm not going to let her down anymore." She sank to the ground, hugging her knees again.
"But, what if Seyona don't come?" Chaco asked hesitantly.
"She'll come." Leli replied, then added softly. "She has toI'm her best friend."
