The ragged breathing of Leli overtook the gripping of Chaco and Seyona's patience was wearing thin.
"How much longer?" Leli gasped hunched over a walking stick.
"As long as't takes yer ta wobble." Came Chaco's sly remark.
The blonde glared, but retained her wobbled pace.
Seyona spoke up in a don't-play-games-with-me tone, "Chaco."
The teen's shoulders sank, and he placed his hands into his pockets. "Just over those hills."
Leli blinked. "Wha- How did you make him answer you so nicely, Seyona!?"
Chaco answered before Seyona could. "'Cause she don't wobble."
"What?! That's no answer!" Leli pouted angrily increasing her speed up the grassy hills.
"K, then, because."
"That's even worse, you freak." A grin played over Leli's lips and she turned around to face Chaco.
Chaco stopped and looked uncomfortable for a moment. "Whad ya doin'....I-"
"You like her."
"WHA!" Chaco took a step backwards, his arm raised in surprise. "I thought you were missed up before, heh, now I'm dang sure ya're now." He steamed past Leli and after Seyona, who disappeared over the top of the hill.
But Leli wasn't going to give it up. "You do, don't you?" Her eyes lit up when Chaco didn't answer,  "Aw, that's so sweet!" She looked around for Seyona, "Hey, SEy-" Leli found herself being covered over the mouth and being glared at by a very angry Chaco.
"Look here, now, " Chaco whispered hoarsely under his breath, "I do not like her, git it, Tart."
Then Chaco looked a bit embarrassed and shook his head and played a half smirk, the childish look returned to his eyes. "Come on, Highway village is up ahead. If ya start to wobble a little faster, I'll a show you where the best places are."
Leli looked at the Winger skeptically, her arms now finding their way to be crossed firmly across her chest, "Oh, how now?"
"See! That's why I dern't be fine to ya! Yar so so so so...." Chaco down to the ground, anger and frustration boiling through him, "SOMETHING!" He screamed.
Leli blinked back tears, "Oh, yeah? Well, I'm so glad you came up with such a good word to describe me."
"Ya, a woman..." Chaco took in a deep breath, 'My gran-sire alwaids said yer kind were no good."
Leli's gray eyes grew wide, "You have a grand-pa," after a weird look from Chaco, Leli quickly added, "I mean, I thought you didn't have any family, um, around here...that is..."
Chaco closed his eyes, a painful expression washed over his young face then he sighed it away, "It nothin'; I don't wanna speak about it."
Her voice went low, "Oh. I-"
"AH!" Leli jumped from the sudden outburst from the Winger, "I can't believe me being nice wit yer ugly self."
Leli's eyes grew to twice their normal size. "WHAT DID YOU CALL ME, YOU GOOD FOR NOTHING TWERP!"
Chaco wiped his forehead with the back of his hand, "Whew, let's never git that close agin," He shuddered. "Agreed?"
Leli just glared.
Seyona's annoyed voice came to them from over the hill.  "Hey!  You two lovebirds coming or what?"
"Lovebirds?!" Leli turned a deep shade of red.  "Now listen here... that... that... that... whatever he is is NOT my lovebird, you hear me?!" Leli ran forward, shaking her walking stick at Seyona and ignoring the fact that she was supposedly too tired to walk.  Chaco watched her go over the hill and out of sight, then sighed, shoved his hands dejectedly in his pockets and slumped after her.
"Whatever, fish for brains." Seyona chuckled good naturedly.  "I found something that should cheer you up."
"Yeah?" Leli stood next to her friend.  "What's that?"
Seyona pointed.  "Highway Village."
