| Chapter 10 |
| "Ah! Finally land!" Leli exclaimed as she saw the white town Coronet in the distance. The blonde ran across the ship, bumping into a few people on the way and found Seyona on the end of the ship. "Hey, Seyona, we're coming to Coronet! Aren't you excited? I never been to Coronet before, "Leli stopped, a blank look on her light skin, "Come to think of it, I don't think I left the Continent..." She shrugged, "So you coming, Seyona?" Seyona waved her hand behind her to go away. Leli blinked, and silently walked to her side. "You okay?" She saw Seyona was slightly green, "You're sea sick!?!" Seyona grabbed her stomach and her mouth and darted away from Leli to do her business in private. That left Leli standing alone at the bow of the ship. She scratched her head, then shrugged, she'll meet her at the entrance. As she was going, she was hit, but not hard enough to make her fall, she spun around angrily and saw a piece of black wing and orange skin before the perpetrator went over the ship. Leli's eyes narrowed and she quickly ran to the side, shaking her fist angrily. "YOU BRAT! IF I -EVER- SEE YOU AGAIN I'LL-" Leli stopped in mid curse as something gooey and soft hit her in the face, it slowly oozed down her front, staining her light blue shirt, red. "HAHA! LIKE I SAID, WENCH, YOU CAN TALK THE TALK, BUT CAN YOU WALK THE WALK! SEE YA LATER, LOSER!" The winger waved at her from shore and disapeared within the crowd. Leli wiped the ooze from her face and found with disgust she was tomatoed. and worse it reeked. Tears welding in her eyes, from the sheer smell, she screamed. "SEYONA!!!!!" She had to know where she could find a place to wash this stuff off, since she went to Coronet before and probably to Highlands as well. Seyona was finally able to keep whatever she had in her stomach in. She sighed with contentment as she started down the plank to dry land, once she got on it she would be fine. "SEYONA!!!!!" Seyona took another deep breath, "Just breathe, Seyona, you're almost there, ignore everything else." Leli caught up to Seyona, crying. "Seyona, look what that, that, that- thing did to me!" The smell came to Seyona's nose, in a slow voice, "Leli? Could you please get away from me." "What? But you gotta tell me where I can wash this stuff off, it reeks!" Seyona could literally feel herself turning green, she looked longingly towards land, not three feet away. She felt her stomach do a belly flop. She took another deep breath and tried again, "Leli, this isn't a good time" The world began to spin. "BUT!" "Here, let me help." Seyona looked up, and saw a man in a cloak, a hood covered his face. She shook her head, cold sweat appearing on her body. "No, gotta get to-" The man placed a gentle hand on her forehead, a peaceful glow emanated from it. Seyona squinted her eyes, and looked up into the hood. No more than three second later she felt better; the cloaked figure took two steps back. "There is an inn, " he pointed to the east, "Tell them Hubert sent you, and you shall get some provisions for your journey." "Do they have a bath?" Leli asked, leaning over Seyona's shoulder. He took three more steps backwards and bowed. "Well, do they?" A fisher man came between them, and when he passed the stranger was gone. Leli blinked and scratched her head. "That was...odd." "He reminded me of Luc..." Seyona whispered. "Huh?" "I don't know, I could of swore I-" She cut herself off and laughed. "I must be going nuts!" Leli raised an eyebrow. "I thought I was the crazy one." Then she scrunched up her nose, her tone going from serious to whiny. "Come on, I have to get to that inn!" "All right, all right, you big crybaby!" Seyona laughed, walking off the ship ahead of her friend. Then waved her hand in front of her face. "You know, you're rightyou do need a bath" Leli frowned. "I'm not THAT bad, am I?" "Do youreally want me to answer that question?" She gave her best friend a sly grin. "Awww" Leli's shoulders slumped. "But IHEY!" Seyona looked back to see that Chaco had bumped into Leli and was now being reamed out for his mistake. "I'm sorry, lady, I didn't see ya standin' there!" Chaco broke free from her grasp and straightened his clothing. "I'm outta heregood luck gettin' out of the city!" with a chuckle, he took to the air, leaving two very stunned thieves standing on the docks. "The heck did he mean by that?" Leli raised an eyebrow, "I tell you, I REALLY don't trust that guy at all!" She reached into her pockets. "We can get out of the city just fine, we have-" Leli stopped abruptly and began desperately searching her pockets. "Is something wrong?" Seyona asked. "The passports!" Leli screamed frantically, emptying the contents of her pockets on the ground. "They're gone!" "They can't be gone, you just forgot what pocket you put them in!" Seyona kicked at the pile on the ground. No passports there. "Nothey're gone!" Leli looked about to cry for a second then a look of acknowledgment crossed her face. "Thatthatthatthat" "That what?" Seyona blinked at her stuttering friend. "That-that WINGER!" Leli finally exploded, her hands clenched in fists of anger. "HE took our passports! THE JERK!!!" Her face began turning a dangerous shade of red and steam was starting to come out of her ears. "Uh," Seyona took a step back away from her friend, afraid that the blonde girl would explode right then and there. She glanced around her, afraid that Leli was making another scene, but the people bustled around them, seemingly not noticing them at all. Then she saw it, the Winger in question, hopping from rooftop to rooftop, laughing insanely. "Look, there he is!" Seyona exclaimed, pointing to Chaco. A look of pure determination crossed Leli's features and she started climbing up the brick wall in an attempt to reach the rooftop. Seyona eyed her friend strangely. "What are you doing?" "No matter what the obstacle I WILL get that sword back!" Leli exclaimed, slowly making her way up the wall. "And no WINGER is going to stop me, dang it!" Remarkably, the blonde thief actually managed to make it to the top and crawl onto the rooftop. With a cry resembling that of a wild animal, (think Tarzan), she leaped toward the next rooftop, missed, and came crashing down to earth, landing in a pile of old clothing. Seyona calmly walked up to her friend, who was lying dazed in the pile of clothes, and looked down at her. "Are you done yet?" Leli looked at her dazedly for a moment. "Seyona...why didn't you tell me you were twins?" Seyona shook her head. "Come on, Mrs. Fallsalot, let's get our tickets back." |
