The selection criteria for the selection of the future fighter jets and other non fighter jets branches in the PAF is following:

Nationality: 

                         Male citizens of Pakistan only. Candidates with dual nationality will have to surrender their foreign nationality upon joining the course otherwise the selection will be cancelled. Females can only apply in ground supported branches excluding the Aeronautical engineering Branch.

Qualification:

  1. H Sc/F Sc (pre-Engg/pre-medical) for fighter jets & for other branches according to their nature.
  2. Senior
  3. The candidates who have passed F Sc from foreign institutions have to produce the equivalence certificate.

Age:

            17 to 22 years for civilians and 18 to 22 for serving Airmen on the date of commencement of course.

Martial Status:

                          Unmarried male citizens of Pakistan.

Ineligibility:

The following candidates will be ineligible to apply:

  1. Twice rejected/screen out by the ISSB.
  2. Declared unfit by CMB/CMH or Armed Forces appeal medical board.
  3. Dismissed from any Government service or withdrawn from any service training institution.
  4. Convicted by the Court of Law for any offence involving moral turpitude.
  5. Whose original academic certificates are found tempered with.
  6. Who conceals any information while filling his application form.

Selection Procedure:

  1. Intelligence test, interview and preliminary medical test at selection center followed by academic tests.
  2. Test/interview by ISSB (Inter Services Selection Board), it is actually an officer selection board which take different kinds of tests of the candidates and select the candidates. The test are basically of three types and also called "Three Dimensional Selection System" because of three different tests, which are; Physiological tests, Physical tests and Interview.
  3. Final examination by CMB (Combined Military Board) or CMH (Combined Military Hospital).
  4. Final selection in order of merit by Air Headquarters.  

Training:

                         Three years of training for Fighter pilots and three and a half years for the Aeronautical Engineers and for other branches according to offered course.
