| GRK Sports is the organization owned by Greg Karpuk. Based in Churchville, Pennsylvania, GRK Sports owns many fantasy teams and has been the driving force behind several leagues. | Teams (click on links to learn more) Northampton Tigers (1990-present) The founding franchise of GRK Sports, the Tigers are three-time CFFL Champions. Northampton Mavericks (1991-present) The winningest franchise owned by GRK Sports, the Mavericks have won 6 different titles in 4 different leagues. Northampton Cougars (1991-present) The Cougars are the most dominant team in CHL history, winning 4 of 5 CHL championships. Florida Gators (1992-95) Team colors: Blue and Orange. Home Field: Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at Florida Field (aka The Swamp). Capacity: 88,548 The Gators were an expansion team formed in a licensing partnership with the University of Florida, which allowed them to use the Gator name and colors, as well as play their home games at The Swamp. The Gators were CFFL head-to-head champions in 1994. Florida Panthers (1992-95) Team colors: Orange and Black. Home Stadium: the Everglades Center. Capacity: 17,822 Named for Florida's endangered cougar, the Panthers were a CHL expansion team in 1992. They won the CHL South Division title in 1992-93. Carolina Knights (1993-95) Team Colors: Purple, Black, and Silver. Home Stadium: Knights Field. Capacity: 45,592 The Knights were a CRBL expansion team in 1993. Colorado Black Sox (1994-95) Team Colors: Black, White, and Silver. Home Stadium: Coors Field. Capacity: 50,200 One of two teams spun off from the Mavericks and Knights when the NRBL was organized after the CRBL folded, the Black Sox were named in honor of "Shoeless" Joe Jackson and Buck Weaver, who were unfairly banned from baseball with their 6 White Sox teammates for throwing the 1919 World Series. Seattle Mustangs (1994) Team Colors: Red and White. Home Field: Kingdome. Capaity: 60,000 The other team spun off from the Mavericks and Knights during the CRBL-NRBL transition, the Mustangs were named after the P-51 Mustang, one of the most deadly fighters in World War II, partly in honor of Seattle's history with aviation. GRK Racing (2004-present) Started in 2004, GRK Racing owns teams in both NASCAR and Formula 1. Celtic American FC (2004-present) Also started in 2004, Celtic American FC is a team in the UK Premiership. |

| Stadiums Tiger Field (aka The Jungle) Originally built in 1990, Tiger Field (aka The Jungle) is the home of the Tigers. It underwent a $433 million remodel before the 2005 season, and is now a top-of-the-line facility. Seating 70,000 people, the open-air, natural grass stadium also hosts events such as concerts and soccer games. Ashburn Field at Maverick Park Opened in 1992 as Maverick Park, this stadium also went under a remodel before the 2005 season. The remodel cost $300 million, and the stadium was renamed Ashburn Field at Maverick Park after the Phillies did not name their new stadium after their Hall of Fame player and broadcaster. The open-air, natural grass stadium seats 45,000. Guinness Center Originally opened in 1991 as Northampton Arena, the home of the Cougars has been undergoing a remodel since last fall, with major work to come when the Cougars' season ends sometime in the next month. The naming rights for the arena, which will be completed by the start of the 2006-07 hockey season, were sold to Diageo PLC, the owners of Guinness, in the fall of 2005. |
