Blue Devils (1990-91) The Blue Devils were champions during their only two years of existence. Owner Dan Nahirniak put together an offense built around three Hall of Fame running backs: Barry Sanders, Thurman Thomas, and Emmitt Smith. Other players who starred for the Blue Devils were Troy Aikman, Jerry Rice, and John Taylor. The Blue Devils went 9-5 in 1991, winning the Division 1 title but losing their only playoff game to the Steelers.

Canucks/Wildcats/Bears (1990-93) Originally owned by Nick Nahirniak, the Canucks/Wildcats were one of the least successful teams in CFFL history, finishing last twice in their 4-year existence. The franchise was a combined 15-28-2 in head-to-head play. Chris Karpuk took over the team in 1992, and renamed it the Bears in 1993. The Bears then merged with the Steelers in 1994. Among the players this team had were Joe Montana, Jim Kelly, Roger Craig, Art Monk, and Warren Moon.

Cardinals/Flyers/Surge/Predators/Las Vegas Crappers/Predators (1990-95; 2005-present) A current CFFL team that can trace its roots back to the Old Skool era, the Crappers were founded as the Cardinals in 1990. The team became known in its early days for changing its name every season. The team was also known for becoming the top team in an organization run by owner Kevin Karpuk (and partnered by Joe Jamison) that would hide players from this team on other teams rosters during the offseason and would trade for them as needed. The team won the CFFL Championship in 1993 as the Predators, but is only somewhat successful in head-to-head play, with a 50-51-1 overall record and no playoff wins. Among the players who have starred for this team are Barry Sanders, Emmit Smith, Andre Reed, Keith Jackson, Jim Kelly, Jerry Rice, and Thurman Thomas.

Steelers (1990-95) The Steelers were one of the teams that lasted the length of the Old Skool era. A mildly successful team, they never won a points championship (their best finish was 2nd in 1991, 105 points out), but they did win head-to-head championships in 1991 and 1993. They kept their team name throguhout their history, except for a brief name change to the Redskins during the 1991-92 offseason. Primary owner Chris Karpuk and partner Pat Kiedaisch merged the Bears with them in 1994. Steeler stars included Warren Moon, Neal Anderson, Gary Clark, Rod Woodson, Cris Carter, and Jay Novacek.

Northampton Tigers (1990-present) The most successful team in CFFL history, the Tigers were one of the original 5 CFFL franchises. Under the direction of owner Greg Karpuk, the team won CFFL championships in 1992 and 1994, and a head-to-head title in 1992. The team bounced around in leagues off-and-on for a decade, making it to the championship games in Yahoo! public leagues in 2003 and 2004, losing both times. When the CFFL was revived in 2005, the Tigers won the first championship in the new league. The franchise has an all-time record of 77-41-3 in CFFL play. Among the many players who have starred for the Tigers are Randall Cunningham, Chris Miller, Rodney Hampton, Keith Byars, Fred Barnett, Ricky Watters, Brent Jones, Andre Rison, Carson Palmer, Chad Johnson, and Deion Sanders, or as they say on NFL Primetime "Priime Time, Priiime Time, Priiiime Time".

Dolphins (1991-92) When the CFFL added an expansion team for the 1991 season, owner Jessica Karpuk took her love for Miami's NFL team and called her team the Dolphins. They never lived up to the legacy of their namesake, with a last-place finish in 1991 and a fifth-place finish in 1992, and an overall league record of 12-21-1. They did, however, pull off some major upsets and make it to the championship game both years they were in the league. Star players included Art Monk, Thurman Thomas, and, of course, Dan Marino.

Gators (1992-95) The Gators were one of the expansion teams added for the 1992 season. They were the most successful of all the expansion teams, posting a 35-21-1 all-time record . In 1993, their second season, they finished in second place, only 33 points out of first, and made it to the championship game (but lost to the Steelers). They won the head-to-head championship in 1994, upsetting the Tigers on the road, and were in first place in both the points standings and in the CFFL South when the league shut down in 1995. Owner Greg Karpuk took the opposite appraoch of his brother Kevin, and ran the Gators as a team not linked to the Tigers. The team was built around players such as Steve Young, Michael Irvin, Michael Haynes, Shannon Sharpe, Reggie Cobb, and Jason Elam.
