I am not sure there is a way to add a picture yet.  Basically, what you are seeing with the current product is eGroups with a Yahoo! label.

And, I wouldn't count on winning the Yahoo! presidential election.  I suspect there many Republican types at Yahoo! so that you might win the popular vote on the platform of restoring communities and clubs, but not the electorial college.  Your opponent will then claim that he has a mandate from the people to dismantle everything else that appears to be user friendly.

does NOT
include all the functionality that will be in place before Yahoo!
Clubs migrates to the service.

We plan to include the following in time for the Clubs migration:

1) Recent message summaries just like Clubs has now
2) Full Yahoo! Calendar integration (The current version of Groups
has the eGroups calendar in place, but we will replace this with
Yahoo! Calendar functionality )
3) Yahoo! Photos integration -- even better than what's currently in
Clubs, you'll be able to order prints and send photos as Yahoo!
Greetings
4) Yahoo! Briefcase integration -- an improvement of the current
Clubs setup
4) Enhanced stats modules
5) Full Yahoo! Voice Chat integration -- resized for better usability.
6) Privacy of email IP address -- display only your Yahoo! ID in your
group if you post via the web.

and even more.

That's the main message -- this isn't the final version that all
Clubs users will interact with. We're still tweaking the interface
prior to Clubs integration, so don't get too hung up on this current
version. If anything Clubs users are getting a world of new
functionality, customizability, and access control not currently
possible on Clubs.

clubs and more. All of my ideas can be used they ways I like it. If you
wondering why I'm this happy well because I can adapted to thing easily
and I have some great ideas to do with the new features. Another thing
the members can particpate more even if its from thier e-mail.

Subject: Moderator?

On Christmas Day, my "multicat" Yahoo! ID's (there were several, each
started with "multicat" and were followed by a two- or three-digit
number) were all hacked, removed from all clubs in which each ID held
membership, and all clubs in which each ID was a founder were
deleted. For the past month I've been working hard to rebuild the
deleted clubs, and for the most part have forgotten about eGroups.
But now that the new eGroups "product" has made its appearance, I
decided to revisit eGroups. It appears the hacker did not touch any
of multicat's eGroups accounts, but since I am now
using "cathouse_colony_01" as my primary Yahoo! ID, multicat has
unsubscribed all eGroups and cathouse_colony_01 has joined all of
multicat's former eGroups.

As cathouse_colony_01, however, I seem to be the only member of this
list who is NOT a moderator. I wonder if I might be promoted to
moderator so that I may experiment with the moderator features?

Thank you for your consideration.

heightened security program!)

hello all, one of the things I have found and would like to highlight
to you is in 'My Preferences' At the top left side of the page is the
area to edit your subscriptions. The default setting is that anyone
can directly add you to another group without your permissionn. You
may want to look over your preferences and make some changes.

Well I experimented with the colors. I dont understand how to add
Club Logos or club pictures. Do they have to be on a website now??
Others got their clubs URL to be highlighted. I dont know how thats
done..Been looking around. Iam not sure this will be easy to learn
off hand. I hope Members will stick with this.
Thank Sharon

I notice that in the summary of recent messages, the names of the
poster vary in format. Some are listed by their email address, some
by their full name, some just by a first name or nickname. Where do
we go to modify the name by which we are knowin in Yahoo Groups?

i think some of the difference in names comes from where they send the message. i have my mail program configured with a display name that the clubs. so it depends if i post from club or from the mail program

Subject: Files

hello all
Files can be like the old photo section. I am suggesting that when
you get your new Group you make up some folders and give them names
like Photos, Files, Front page etc. One of the problems we have found
with the File area is there is no group and personal settings for
members, either all of files is open to all members or it will
require approval of owner/mod so it could get messy.
No, you can't upload a photo from your puter onto the front page,
but if you have a photo posted somewhere on the web like on a
personal web or a place like Photopoint or just load into files.
Promote is just a place where they have banners, buttons, gifs and
HTML code stored that you can take and add to your personal web site
and it will became a link to your egroup/group.
Reading posts, members will still have the option to have posts
mailed to them. One difference will be that a member with an old
eGroup membership doesn't need a Yahoo ID to read messages, but if an
eGroup member wants to access all of a groups features ie. files then
they will require a Yahoo ID.
Hope this helps a bit.
