Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office

This logo was created for use in a mutlimedia presentation for the Hispanic Outreach Program. Charles Fernandez was asked to create a graphic that would symbolize friendship and cooperation between the Sheriff's Office, and the hispanic community of Hillsborough County.

Eventually Charles decided on the Sheriff's Star, and one of the distinctive light poles that line the streets of Ybor City, a historic district in Tampa long associated with the city's strong hispanic heritage. The light poles are a symbol of Ybor City, and reflect the hispanic influence on the architecture in the area.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Headquarters is only one block away from Ybor City's acclaimed 7th Avenue. Once Charles decided to use an Ybor City light pole in this graphic, he went outside, walked one block down, stood on the sidewalk and drew one.
