Britney Spears

Britney Jean Spears was born 2nd December 1981 in Kentwood, Louisiana, USA. According to Britney's mother Lynne Britney was a sweet and lovely girl. She started to talk at an early age.

When Britney just had started walking, she began to dance to music. She began dancing ballett and stepping, and she was entered for gymnastics in Covington. Covington is situated an one hour drive from the house where she grew up. She was very gifted, and she won several championsships representing Lousiana. She liked best performing gymanstics on the floor because she could use her proficiency in dancing.

Britney practised three hours every day. Because the drive took one hour every way, she used five hours every day in performing gymnastics to she reached the age of nine. Then she finished performing gymnastics, and she decided to start dancing again. In addition she began taking singing lessons.

At the age of eight Britney got prospects when she travelled to Atlanta to take part in an audition for Disney Channels's "Mickey Mouse Club". She was among the finalists, but she did not win because she was too young. One of the producers observed the gifted girl. Britney danced, sang and acted until the TV show was closed. She returned to her home town to finish school.

After a year at school she missed the tours. She was tired of school. At the age of 15 Britney took part in an audition for a girl group. But Britney wanted to be a solo artist and she made a demotape before she returned to New York. Shortly after she had signed a contract with Jive Records.

In 1998, three months before the release of her first single "...Baby, One More Time", Britney toured USA and performed in shopping centres. Her fans gathered round Britney and acclaimed her.
