CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

PROFILE OF THE INSTITUTE:

Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat is one of the premier National level Institute of Engineering. Under the scheme of Central Government, it has been awarded a Deemed University status. The institute offers seven prime under graduate courses of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Chemical and Production Engineering.

PROFILE OF CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT:

The Department of Civil Engineering offers basic course of Civil Engineering at under graduate level. It also offers Post graduate courses in Environmental Engineering, Town and Regional Planning and Water Resources Engineering. The Department undertakes consultancy in the field of Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water Resources Engineering and Surveying. The Department is well equipped with latest technological instruments to take up such projects.

PROFILE OF THE P.G. SECTION:

The P.G. Section in Environmental Engineering was established in 1972 and is actively engaged in research programme. It has produced more than 125 Post Graduates who are employed in the industries and a few are renowned consultants. The National Board of Accreditation has accredited the courses of Civil Engineering at undergraduate level and Environmental Engineering at Post Graduate level at ‘A Grade’.
