October 20, 2002 - Heh, it's been a while. As Early Decision deadlines near, a lot of us are beginning to panic. What else is coming near? The musical! Cephas' Shea and Jeff are gonna be in the band! Robert and James are actors (with huge leading roles) and Dan will be backstage. Tom will be watching on Thursday =) Either way, the two performances went...eh well I guess. We'll try to get them on recording. No promises however.
September 8, 2002 - Back in school, stuck in typhoons, busier than termites. Three of the band members are in the school musical, one is in cross country and the other is in pre-season training. Not much practice has been done but there are two upcoming performances! One on 9/27, the Senior Activity Night! The second, a small acoustic set featuring Shea and James with guest bassist RJ Santos at the Food Fair, part of the Tri-M setup of performances. October 5th! That one should be a blast too! Visit the Mp3.com website and support the band! =) Sorry for not having new material but we're all busy kids trying to get into schools!
June 4, 2002 - We're OUT OF SCHOOL BABY! Haha. And we got treats for you! Scroll down the page and check out the little picture galleries we set up for you guys to enjoy! No more mp3s or videos though. The pictures take up a lotta room on the site! There's gonna be a Cephas VCDish thing coming out soon. Details to come...
May 28, 2002 - Sorry about the lack of updates. It was getting annoying to get into the site. More updates on the Talent Show and the Prom coming soon! Anyway, you can have some spiffy Cephas background images if you want! Download the 1024x768 resolution version or the 800x600, depending on your background. enjoy! =)
April 27, 2002 - Yesterday Cephas had their auditions for talent show and the good news is they got in! The next bit of news is the Prom audition coming up this coming Thursday or Friday. Cephas will try to do that as well! Shea also auditioned for a fingerstyle guitar solo and he's gonna be the act right before Cephas in the Talent Show on May 10th! Be there or be square!

April 13, 2002 - The Tri-M concert went well and Cephas rocked the house live for the first time in TAS! On the program were As One Who Is and That Thing You Do, by The Wonders! Hopefully Tom'll get the mp3's of those performances for us on the website! Until then, hold on! Cephas has quite a bit to do in the next few weeks! Auditions for Prom and Talent Show are comin' right up and Cephas is crankin out some fresh and old tunes for you to enjoy!
April 6, 2002 - Okay. Look out for the Tri-M Concert coming up on April 12, 2002 folks cuz Cephas is going to be LIVE and rockin' the Auditorium!!! BUY YOUR TICKETS AT THE TRI-M CD BOOTH. THEY'RE NOT ONLY SELLING CDS THERE! (Buy the cd too if you don't have it ;)) Anyway, Cephas will be performing As One Who Is and a special song that is kept under wraps for now. ;)

April 6, 2002 - Speaking of mp3s, check out the next original Cephas song in work! It's called #11 cuz it has no name as of right now and it is fully instrumental. It was only the work of Shea and Tom (and his funky keyboard that put in drumbeats that are almost as good as Rob's!) If you wanna TRY and singalong, click here for the lyrics! Cephas, Aramaic for rock, English for a group of modern music pioneers, Taiwanese for...wait...never mind. So why Cephas? Because we thought it sounded cool. Actually the reason is much more sophisticated than that and only individuals with exemplary intellect can understand through persistence, perseverance and pondering, followed by the use of intensity, integrity and intelligence, proceeded the exercise of perception for you have entered the man-made universe and resistance is futile. *
Things you should know about Cephas:
- The singer is the solo guitarist
- The rhythm guitarist is a nutcase
- The pianist can't play classical music, nor can he read bass clef. Oh, and he dated a Canadian.
- The drummer is in time, but never on time
- The bassist broke the E-string on his bass before...twice.
- The lead guitarist is a BASSIST in disguise
- Did I mention the pianist dated a Canadian?
About the Song
As One Who Is, originally named "Nonsensical Imagery," is a song dedicated in memory of the events of September 11, 2001 in New York City. The song is a combination of several poems Shea composed the day following the tragic events, which were then combined to become the lyrics of this song.
