HOW TO PLAY

Goal

The goal of the game is to create your dream team of CRCA riders who will collect points from placing in CRCA sponsored races (only A races or 1/2 or 1/2/3 races) in the 2002 season. The team with the most accumulated points by the end of the season wins.

Budget

You are given $2,100 to create a team of 4-6 riders. You must have a minimum of 4 riders and a maximum of 6 riders. The rider's cost has been calculated based on last year's published results in CRCA club races and CRCA Open races. You will find these costs in the RACERS section of the Century Fantasy Zone.

Trades

You are entitled to two free trades through April. From May until the end of the season you get one more trade at a cost of $100. For example, Rider X, currently on your team, is worth $425. You can only trade this rider for another worth $325 or less (unless your team had money left over from the original formation). Note: You only earn points from riders during the time they are on your team roster.

Team Roster Conflicts

More than one team can own the same rider, but no teams are allowed to have the same roster. If any team shares the same exact roster, then the first submitted team will be awarded the squad and all other conflicting teams will have to resubmit a new different roster. Once a unique roster is submitted any further changes are considered trades. Team ranking and rosters can be found in the TEAMS section of the Century Fantasy Zone.

Only one team is allowed per person. No new teams will be accepted after April 30, 2002.

How racer costs are calculated

Racer value/costs are listed in the RACERS section of the Century Fantasy Zone. Below is a brief summary of costs.

5 Ray Diaz $650
6 Stephen Badger $600

11-54 $5 less each rider

How points are awarded for the 2002 season

Riders will earn points only from CRCA club A races and CRCA open races ( Men's Cat 1/2 or 1/2/3 races) during the 2002 season. The number of points a rider may earn is based upon his/her published placing for a particular race. Each race through scrutinizing analysis has been carefully classified according to its difficulty and level of competition. Each class has its own points distribution.

The list of qualifying races and their respective results can be found in the RACES section of the Century Fantasy Zone.

CRCA riders will get the points of the place finished, ie. if the Rider gets 5th place at Harriman, but is the 1st CRCA racer, he still only get the points for 5th place.

Only riders in the money will get points. If Maltese only pays 10 places, only the top 10 will get points, if the club championship only posts the top 8 only the top 8 will get points.

If the rider's name is not published on the net or newsletter, no points will be awarded.

In TT's only overall placing is counted, ie, Rider finishes 10th in the 1,2,3 but is listed 13th overall because a master, a cat 4, and women finished ahead of the Rider. The Rider get the points for 13th.

In the TTT all riders on the TT squad get points.

Prize

A token prize will be awarded to the fantasy team with highest accumulated CUCP total by the end of the 2002 racing season. The exact prize is yet to be determined by the Century Fantasy Zone.
